  • Haha, this video rocks. At first before i clicked to watch i thought you were eating a lolli pop. Then I saw you with this crappy looking device which turned out to be a really beautiful sounding instrument, just like the song. KUDOS!

    keep up the good work

PS., how do you hold your breath to play those long notes? thats not human.

  • So... how about that tutorial.... or at least the numbers please :(

  • Where did you manage to source the backing track from? (the orchestra you were playing over). I've tried searching the net under every name the tune goes by and can't find it. I would love to get hold of it to play over on my whistle, as would many others I'm sure. Could you point us to it with a link perhaps?

  • Probably the only instrument I would have the patience to learn.

  • Beautiful AND talented. Kudos on an excellent demonstration.

I shall now learn the Irish Tin Whistle in your honor.

  • @inspirationalflute Do itttttttttttt :))))))))))))

  • @bigbriggy If you still need the notes to the song I just barely posted it on my channel. It is called - How to play Lord of the Rings Concerning Hobbits - tin whistle

  • I noticed that in the video, you are holding the whistle with your right hand on top. Is that because you play the flute on your left side and didn't want to mess up your muscle memory?

  • @seeker920 The settings on my web camera were accidentally "flipped." So I am not holding my tin whiste backwards even though it looks like it in the video. Sorry about the confusion.

  • That was sooooooooooooo awesome! Absolutely beautiful.

Is there any hope for someone like me, who has never played an instrument, to be able to play the tune like this? I already have my D whistle. :D

  • @seeker920 Of course there is!!!! This is the first song I learned on tin whistle. Since I have gotten SOOOOO many requests about this video. I am going to post a Tutorial on this song. You can look for it on my channel. :)

    Blessings!!!

  • @josema15100 I made this video using a Generation tin whistle in the key of D. However, in the movie they play it on a D major tin whistle

  • it's fabulous.. :D

brought it out really great.. very peaceful it is..

  • This is beautifully done. Inspiring. I loved it.

  • sheet music! pls?

  • hiyya, can you help me?? my whistle keeps on making this horrible scratchy noise!! can you surgest anyhting??x

  • @aliceewhitehead: I know of 4 reasons why tin whistles squeak/scratch. 1) You are blowing too hard for the note. Remember to start softly and work way up until the note is good. Soft for lower notes, and hard for higher notes. 2) You are not pressing your finger pads over the holes completely/properly. Press firmer maybe. 3) You do not have a proper ceal over the mouth piece. Make sure there's no air escaping from the mouthpiece. 4) There's buildup of spit in the mouthpiece and tin whistle body.

  • @Aussiecelt85 Aww thanks:) that really helps:) xx

  • im wondering is that a diffrent type of flute because i have the big horizontal flute so im saying is that the same fingerings? because that reminds me of an oboe/with like a clarinet mouthpiece and oboes have the same fingerings as my flute but thank you for your time

    ~Nick

  • @NickVarney12345 It is called a pennywhistle. There are some similarities between flute and pennywhistle fingerings. If you would like me to make a Tutorial video on anything, please feel free to let me know. Thanks! :)
