  • ... ._.

  • DAME DUDE U TURNED MY WATER IN TO ICE SWEET!!! but now i have nothing to drink -_-

  • you dont need sodium acetate. in my high school sometimes when i would buy water at lunch it would do this. it was actually pretty cool. always unexpected.

  • @lazarakis248 You should refrain from commenting on subjects that you are uneducated on. You only verify what we see in your videos ;)

  • NOTICE

  • can u driink this stuff? ha, it looks a little sketchy.

  • sit on the frozen heavens -hyourinmaru!!!! xD

  • how long do u have to cool it??

  • well it makes sense because the water's chock waves disturber the waters cooling point :)

  • @718Sophia

well it makes sense to us that you dont know how to spell and have no idea what you're talking about :)

  • @718Sophia that made no fucking sense

  • I'm a bit suspicious about the way he banged with the water bottle a few times.

It's as if he's trying to release something from the bottle-cap.

Plus why is the water ''freezing'' from the top downward.

It's just a little bit suspicious.

  • @sallycantdanceful Water freezes like that.

  • @sallycantdanceful one word: agitation.

  • @sallycantdanceful 1: nothing suspicious but remarkable simple science: Supercooled water, water below freezing but not frozen. 2: nothing falls from the cap, the air bubble agitates the water and creates a nucleation site, allowing an ice crystal to form: 3 A cascade effect begins as ice crystal forms on ice crystal, leading to a slushy mix of ice and water. It's as real as it comes. Mostly pure water is easy to super-cool. Anyone can do this at home...anyone.

  • @sallycantdanceful ur a retard

  • how long was the water in the fridge and what was the temp it was stored inn?(:

  • im assuming u put it iin the freezer for a few hours

  • Well, if you drink it and start dancing, it would most certainly give you a cold sensation followed by clenching of your thirsts. Nothing more other than possibility of frost bite on your tongue.

  • Im doing this for my science project :D Thanks

  • Can you do this with any kind of bottle water?

  • @NAvideosDK it has to be purified. Like Fiji. if its not, you have to distill it. :)

  • Water requires foreign matter to adhere to for it to form icebelow 0 C. If no foreign matter exist (minerals, air ect) it will retail its water form but will become cooler and cooler ( super cooled). Once a foreign odject is introduced, it will start forming icecles and turn in to ICE as we know it :)

  • I thinks its fake hot ice.You can look up hot ice and its fun to make.

  • oh that happened to me once kinda u know those popsicle things that are in lang plastic tube things u put in the freezer i went to grab one and it was supercooled and i pulled it out and i was like OMGWTFBBQ

  • @tacoman8200 rofl

  • how can u supercool water?

  • i learnt about ice cubes when i was about,,,,ermmmm,,,hummmm,,, 2

  • That is real. I've seen it in just water, but Gatorade, kool aid, ETC..

I saw something on Discovery Science that talked about this phenomenom, but I can't remember what the ice is called. Either Fresia of fractal, something that starts with an F. But it is real.

  • what would happen if you hit it too hard

  • It's like it's cracking through the ice, making it translucent.

  • funny how it happens from the tops of the bottles to the bottom and it starts right when you pound it on the ground

  • i have had this happen lots of times to miller high life that i put in the freezer, as soon as i pop the cap it turns to slush. Need to keep an eye on it if you forget about it you can break the glass. i'm not sure but i think the alchohol gives you a wider window on the tempurature then water alone

  • Oh and to everyone who thinks the liquid in the video is just Sodium Acetate (Hot Ice) and want proof that it's not and is actually supercooled water, the proof is already in the video. Supercooled water and Hot Ice are very different, if you've watched Hot Ice solidify before, all the liquid turns solid, with supercooled water, the majority of the water remains in liquid form, as shown in the video as he pours the water the ice is more of a slush instead of a complete solid, unlike Hot Ice.

  • Try it, mess around with it, it's pretty cool. I've know about this for over a year, and it still never gets old. Just remember that the water in the bottle has to be below freezing, so it'll need time to get to there if you start it off at room temperature, about 2-3 hours; I don't know about a bottle of water in the refrigerator, depending on the temperature it might take about 30 minutes to an hour. Also remember the water has to be still for the time, absolutely no vibrations of any kind.

  • I have tried drinking supercooled water, it gives you a brain freeze like you've have never had before, and even after drinking it, if I shake the bottle it'll still freeze, but there wont be as much solid mass, ice, as it would be if I didn't open it and drink it.

  • Just stick a unopened bottle of water in the freezer. If the water in the bottle is at room temperature, it should take about 2-3 hours to supercool. Once supercooled just shake or bang the bottle and it'll freeze. The bottle of water has to be undisturbed, can't have any vibrations of any sort for the 2-3 hours, or it'll ruin the process.

  • this is sodium acetate.. NAC2H3O2.. if you mix the with boiling H2O it will make a reaction.. this is what they call hot ice.. drink it first then i will believe you.. we've done this on chem class.. this is soo high school ahahha

  • @poppinrain19 errr its called supercooling -_-... hot ice uses sodium acetate and this one doesnt,it is because the water is below freezing point..

  • Wow! Reading these comments..... has this never happened to any one? You don't need chemicals just a pretty cold freezer. Happens to me all the time when i put my drinks in the freezer at work. I love to watch the ice form. :P

  • ok, all you do is take water that is already cold, say been in your fridge for a day or so, then throw it in your freezer for about 10 minutes. THAT'S IT!!! If you think this is hot ice, acetate, or ANYTHING else, STOP USING GOOGLE IMMEDIATLY OR YOU BRAIN WILL SHRINK TO THE SIZE OF A COMMON PEA.

  • First things first that looks like it might be undrinkable, can you drink it?

  • @radiopigers

    yep, it's just water.

  • how do i make this "supercooled" water? just leave it in the fridge for a while?

  • @jtpruzz you get any carbornated drink (a.k.a. Fizzy Water, Coke,Sprite, Fanta etc) and put in the frezzer (not the re-fridgerater bit, the frezzer bit) for 2-3 hours (three hours recomended). Then you get ice and drop it in the water and Ta-Da Ice!

From Someone Who's happy to help,

    Loukas Fiakkas,

    Rock On!

  • @jtpruzz , you need to purchase sodium acetate on the internet. Then, one receieved, put into boiling water until the water can't absorb any more acetate. Then, cool in fridge. Once cooled, your ready to go. Try watching 'HOT ICE' video, maybe that will help you get a better understanding

  • @tyeedillon this is not hot ice this is called supercooling, you put the water in the freezer for a while the molecules reach a state below zero and when he shook it they aligned and froze

  • The same thing happened to me a few times with soda in cans

  • It works only with mineral water and no destilated or milipore water.

  • old aquafina bottles :D, those kick ass. the new shape sucks

  • Actually you can do the reverse thing with sodium acetate, you can pre-heat it above 56c an leave it to cool. give it a shock and it releases the heat weeks, months later!

  • Boring

  • sooooo cool!

  • its not sodium acetate you retards its water

  • and it's not actually ice it's more of a sluch texture

  • for those that think that it's using that sodium w/e you're wrong the bottles are seeled but if you cool water to about 32 F it won't freeze unless you shake it or cause it to build pressure on itself to freeze

  • Search "Hot Ice" or "Instant Ice"

  • It's a trick using Sodium Acetate.

  • @rangerhawk It's actual water. I just did it.

  • @sexinthebathtubwith I never said it was not water. There is indeed water in it, however it is a trick using sdium acetate. If youo do not believe me then look up the youtube video instant hot ice.

  • @rangerhawk There's other chemicals in it. I just did it. Same results. No Chemicals other than WATER.

  • @sexinthebathtubwith Yes, that is true. but the reaction is the same. The point I was making is it is a trick.

  • Comment removed

  • @sexinthebathtubwith Sorry I misread your post. No offense, but if you are indeed freezing the water I would like to know how you can instantly drop room temp water to 32 deg F. Sorry, but that is impossible. What is shown in this video is an obvious trick using a simple chemical reaction.

  • @rangerhawk it's just water. It's not room temperature, it's supercooled. It's already cold enough to freeze, its just that the crystallization hadn't occurred until he shook the bottle.

  • @dmcn19 Ok, that makes sense, The hot ice trick looks almost exactly the same. Check it out.

  • You don't need sodium acetate to do this. Take a bottle of water after it has been in the frig and put it in the freezer for an hour and a half to 45 mins. It depends on the size of the water bottle.

  • @jakester789 I already got it.. The reason I thought it was the sodium acetate trick was is it looks almost exactly the same. And with the audio track disabled I didn't know what they were doing.

  • Though I guess seeing him take it out of a freezer should have been a clue.. lol

  • okay. The instant hot ice trick is cool as well. Have to try it some day.

  • @sexinthebathtubwith @sexinthebathtubwith Sorry I misread your post. No offense, but if you are indeed freezing the water I would like to know how you can instantly drop room temp water to 32 deg F. Sorry, but that is impossible. What is shown in this video is an obvious trick using a simple chemical reaction.

  • @rangerhawk Oh Lord. I just did this. Like, I did the exact same thing he did with a 1L bottle of Poland spring water from a corner store. It comes out slushy, and we've all done it before, just never noticed it. It does not take another chemical or anything. It's something to do with oxidation. It's not really liquid to frozen water, it's more of an oxygen filled solid. Try it. When you try and taste it, it tastes thick and all.

  • what if u drink it and freezes in you toume

  • Set your freezer to 0 and under and leave an un-opened water bottle in the freezer for 2 hours or more.

Take the water bottle out then shake it or something.

  • sooo how can i do this?

  • You can get a similar result with Sobe. I had a Sobe in the freezer for too long, but it remained a liquid. As soon as a took it out and cracked it open it started to ice up.

  • I wonder what would happen if you drink it then start dancing O.o

  • lol.. ice spikes would come out of your body piercing through your throat :)

  • ouch sounds painful :P

  • @leonheart208 Make a vid an proove it! :D

  • it would stay a liquid because the water would heat up as soon as it entered your mouth.

  • lol that would suck if it froze in your body.. i wouldnt though

  • @idvhfd it would freeze as soon as you open it

  • @idvhfd nothing because if the water enters your body it will get too war too fast^^

  • you guys are idiots! all you need is a cup of water then disolve a tablespoon of salt in it then put ice in it and get a smaller cup that fits inside, fill it with regular water and stir it around inside the bigger cup for like six minutes then take it out and drop a tiny piece of ice in it then it will instantly freeze NO CHEMICALS NEEDED in other words drop a piece of ice in supercooled water and tada for all the idiots who think you need sodium acetate!!!

  • it didnt work...

  • salt IS a chemical :|

either sodium chloride or a mix of NaCl and potassium chloride, and more often than not potassium iodide is mixed through it as well

  • can anyone reply on this comment with short info on how to make supercooled water?

    tnx

  • take a few new bottles and either put them in a freezer or leave them out over night if its cold enough. the ones that dont freeze have been supercooled

  • It's in the description box. -.-

  • i know, but i was a bit ina hurry at the time of my comment

  • Is it possible for this to a bottle that has already been opened and drunk out of then reclosed?

  • Yah, why wouldn't it be.

  • i need some decent instructions on how to do this. im doing it for a project and i have aquafina but i cant get it to work

  • it's not the brand of water that causes this!!

it's a saturated sodium acetate solution.

  • No its not, why don't people believe this, its sooo fucking simple to try and 90% of the god damn Youtube community is soooo fucking stubborn that they can't even start to comprehend things that they don't want to do no matter if its as simple as writing, sop being stubborn as hell and go try it asshole.

  • AMEN!!

  • @icecoolracer You sir, are retarded. Super cooled water is water cooled down to a temperature below freezing point (aka 0 degrees centigrade and below) and then the minerals are freezing so when you vibrate or shake or hit the bottle the minreals will react and end up freezing part of the bottle, and since the water is so cold the rest of the water freezes (its called a chain reaction)

And that my bad friend, is what supercooled water is!

  • this is not the sodium acetate, just supercooled saltwater

  • It doesn't have to be saltwater. I would expect it to work better the purer it is.

  • i believe it is sodium acetate because sodium acetate must be cooled before make it into a reaction . .

steps to make the sodium acetate solution is just pour some sodium acetate powder into a hot boiling water .

once you put it into the boiling water , stir it up constantly.after a while it is dissolved and pout it into any container and cool it in the freezer.

after cooled you can just touch the thing and watch it react ^^

  • look up supercooling on google

  • nothing will happen if u drink it, as soon as u open the bottle the frozen oxygen inside it will be released and freeze the water

  • its really pure really cold water, it wont freeze until its messed with, iv done this with soda b4, its really cool

  • what happens if you drink it? xD

  • your wrong, UmiLi0, the water has simply been supercooled.

  • that bottles does not contain water, but a mix of water and sodium acetate, that freezes in case of shocks ( you'll notice that the guy with the bottle beats it on the table).

  • Actually, it is just water in the bottle. Since the water has no impurities, it can reach a temperature below 0 degrees celsius without freezing. Its really cool to do. Simply place a closed bottle of purified water in a freezer for about 3 hours.

  • i guess that water is very pure

  • when i put a botlle in the freezer it just freezes like it should...

  • whats the temp in the freezer

  • not cold enough then , it has to be those inndustrial ones

  • omg this is ganna be my science project

  • okay woh. what?!

  • Is it drinkable?

  • well yeah its just water dumb ass

  • Sorry, I thought it had added chemicals to it. I don't however appreciate name calling. Thank you.

  • you sound extremely bright.....bravo!

  • mmmm u must be in a realy cold ther

  • is this normal water? or does it have to be with carbon dioxcide?

  • just has to be purifyed wtaer

  • fuck wmg, its even better without music

  • How do you get the water to be cold enough while remaining liquid? Is it just a matter of removing it from the freezer before it's totally frozen?

  • what would happen if you drank it then jumped ahaha

  • Sodium Acetate?

  • yeah

  • Nope, just plain old water. I have done this myself. It was totally an accident, but it was really cool!

  • lol, this happend to my gatorade

  • ya I think it's sodium acetate.. a lot of it lol

  • Honestly does anyone realize that sodium acetate is much harder and more expensive to do than super cooling water?

  • You fail

  • Water will only turn to ice if it has a particle to react against, like a speck of dust for example. Otherwise, if the water is kept in a closed environment, then water can actually drop below freezing point and not freeze.

Those bottles he used were very lucky. Only four our of so many managed to super cool. The other must have got random particles in them.

  • bottled water has minerals in them to "increase" taste, could that be something to freeze the water

  • haha wow they do i think that bottled water tatses like shit its really bitter falvor the worst is aquafina or what ever its called its so bad it says taste the pure or some shit but it tastes so bad why is this? i read they put shti in it and ozonate it and all that crap but it makes it worse the best drinking water i had was from my fridge the ice dispensore kinds

  • You can also do the opposite and superheat water in the microwave, drop something in and it'll basically explode.

  • wow u must be pretty stupid, this is what happens when water is at around 1 degree celcius. the molecules move super slow. When u hit the bottle, ur basically shaking the molecules which hen lock together to form ice. im in freakin middle school and i know that

  • me too

  • Wow... your a dick and your "friend" is a moron because this just happened to me when I took a bottle of sams club water out of my freezer and the bottle had never been opened. Before you post stupid comments get your facts in order!

  • thats also happened to me with a can of pop!!! so i can happen

  • Try distilled water.

  • lmao..

  • Thats Cool

  • How could we do that?

  • Its basically water thats at freezing temp but still hasnt frozen. I put that stuff in my super soaker once. It was freaking awesome.

  • we should start a WMG boycott. too bad i'm so lazy.

  • where can i buy this super cool water?

  • Its just bottled water.

  • can you use them over and over ???

  • just melt it and super cool it again. it's just water.

  • lol thats 3x the same bottle!

  • Copyright is bullshit

  • Kids. This is heterogeneous nucleation.

  • There is now a product out there that says it makes it easy to do this with just about any beverage. It can be found at slush-it . com

  • its plan water...its been supercooled witch means it was cooled below its freezing point with out solidifying. when u hit it, it cause it to form the first ice crystal witch spreds and "freezes" the water

  • the supercooled ones are the ones with the least dirt in

  • Aha, Me and a friend just did this for our science fair project, the whole class was freaked out. :P

  • how did you do it?

  • Simple.. Take a bottle of (Fiji works best) water, Stick it in your freezer overnight and when you wake up, shake the bottle and it freezes.

  • thanks man

  • if you put it in the freezer overnight the water will be frozen

  • Nope. Thats what I did and it worked.

  • The Ice Stone has melted!

  • when are they ever going to fix that bug?

  • Rofl!

  • it doesnt have chemicals in it at all, its no joke. i use to work at an ampm and our cooler would get below 30 degrees and this would happen to alot of our liquid products. surprisingly enough it happened the most to orange fanta...weird

  • I dont get it. is that water or sodium acetate? and how does it work

  • I have done this as well, and it certainly looks to be sodium acetate!
