3100 SFI V6 Idle and Rev

I absolutely hate this god damn engine. It ran good for about 6 months and now it's starting to take a shit on me, fucking intake manifold gaskets are leaking Wtf!

@xtreme01hac10docter nice, monte carlos are sweet cars, and sounds like urs has a lot of life left...that's real low miles for a 96

mind did that, also replaced the manifold gaskets. The gaskets were replaced by choice, nothing was wrong with them just had them changed while it was all apart to do the lifter. that was 7 years ago when my dad owned the car. Not even 100k miles on it still to this day. so it probally had 60k on it i suppose

@18CRS nice, I actually just rolled over to 125k on my grand prix with the 3800...that and the 3100 will both go forever

my 98 lumina ls 3100 is currently just under 270k. pure stock with no replacement parts yet, runs excellent and sounds great between 3000-5000 rpm

@ls3100sfi yeap, I love the sound of the little GM V6 growl....sounds mean when you accelerate. I sold this car with 165,000 on it but I'm sure it will go for many more.

i got a 97 olds with the same engine and it has 240,000

yeah, the GM 3100 and 3800 engines especially are bulletproof, ive heard of them going well over 200k
