@dragonx20091 cuz the card has better like everything, AND the 9800GTX dosent exist anymore at shops, and the GTS 250 is smaller, produce less heat, and it has faster clock speeds, and has 1GB model also! and the 9800GTX is much slower, and the GTS 250 is like an 9800GTX+!

@AeroFix94 The 9800gtx isn't much slower. They're basically the same card. The 9800gtx+ comes in at the same stock clock speeds. The 250 does have a slightly smaller PCB, and can come with 1gb of memory. Other than that, they're identical. Both run on the g92 GPU.

This isnt a bad budget card for the money despite its age, the gts250 is basicly 8800gtx chip that was released like 5 years ago in Nov 2006. It was by far the most powerful card out there and in its current form (the 250) it still plays pretty much any game today. I however prefer to set the graphics on high rather than medium and run a little anti aliasing and find that these cards in sli perform great.

@stuang000 GTS 250 is a waste and the dual cores are on a dead end motherboard. If I were you save alot more for those games to run perfectly especially with crysis. If you can buy a motherboard that supports the 2500k? The best cpu's I think or if you want to have a cheaper build Go all Amd amd processor/graphics card both cheap, but if you'll do some encoding and video editing buy intel and nvidia.

The video doesn't tell anything special. The thing that I have to say is that I usually replace the graphics card's cooling system with a more effiecient one (Thermalright brings out the best vga coolers, and so Zalman has a good choice with the duorb). These native manufacturer's coolers are not as sufficient as they have to be in gaming where graphics card gets very hot.

i'm pretty sure it's 10 and physx and cuda. but depending on the company they can add 10.1 but i'm not sure. my MSI GTS 250 2D1G is only DirectX 10 and most games still are only directx10, and 10.1 is actually considered useless as it adds barely any features. Direct 11 is what you should be looking for if you plan on keepin g the card for a long time and not upgrading because direct 11 will last you longer in the comptability

I like the Gigiabyte version of this card it has a 2oz copper in its PCB so you can overclock it way high and a copper zalman thermal conductor for better cooling then you get with stock heatsinks
