  • Hi I like ur idea .. Outside my moms house we have a small cat that we feed but can't bring him in and we feel bad that the cold weather is coming.. I'm gonna try this .. What size storage box do u recommend me buying? For the small and the big I just need sizes Sony can no when I go ti the store thanks

  • Don't forget to add a few cedar chips ( from pet store or garden supply store) to deter insects living in the hay.

  • You should use straw instead of hay because hay has more moisture in it and will can be damp and clump. The straw will retain more heat then hay because of the extra moisture.

  • Smokey is a little chubby.......lol

  • Mine turned out GREAT!!!!!! I have a VERY happy cat! Thanks for this video!!!! :)

  • And to answer the question, did she use it? She did after I took the tube off and widened the opening.

  • I am so glad this is a benefit to you and your outdoor cat or cats.

  • Oh my goodness. What a GREAT idea! I need this! THANKS! I'm going to work on it now! I have all the stuff already!

  • Ummm, I think you need a bigger hole. (and Smokey agrees)

  • I use plastic flower pots, for the tunnel in, the vinyl bigger ones plants come in from nurseries, and cut the bottom out, leaving about half inch around the perimeter in the bottom. That lip left in the bottom can be used to secure it with screws or bolts to a wooden feral housing unit or even a plastic storage container. Or, you can reverse it, since they're usually tapered, bigger at the top than bottom, and insert the bottom through from the inside, which makes it also easy to secure.

  • loved the ending! Thanks for the ideas. I'm gonna try something similar to this for a family of feral cats.

  • Loved this video! Thanks for uploading =)

  • This is great! I have an indoor cat but have recently acquired an outdoor cat and have been worrying about winter. Pls tell me 1) what are the sizes of the tupperware containers, 2) what is the material used for the tubing and where did you get it? do you think the tubing cuts down on wind? 3) what do you think of adding a flap to the inside entrance to help block wind? This is amazing thank you so much! i intend to try this!

  • I made one of these (without the tube entrance - just taping over the space between the two openings) for my feral. THANK YOU for this video, it was very helpful!

  • Hahahaah, I think the cat's too big for that tube! Great job though, glad to see other people taking care of these poor little guys!

  • You have to tell us if she ever went in! How can you leave us hanging like that??

This was a great video! You guys are an example of kindness for us all!

Mine is just a hole in a big tupperware for rainy days, but with your simple instructions, I now have confidence to make it cosier.

    Thank you!

  • this video was great and helped alot! my cats name is tiger aswell hes out inside cat but the cat i wanted to make the huse for is a cat that was born under our steps and that perticular one has been visiting on the prch for abouta year now and the reason we cant bring it in is because tiger is not declowed and hes not a very nice cat i guess ,but great video thanks

  • Did the cat ever use it? Maybe the hole wasn't big enough for her hind end!

  • Fail.

  • Oh no!I don't think she fits :( Maybe make the hole bigger?
