He's right, Chinooks don't suffer so badly from retreating blade stall because of counter rotating blades, so they're faster than a lot of helicopters for that reason.

@camelridingjihad Apaches are the slowest and most worthless dual engine helicopter the military has. they were great for tank killing but we dont do that anymore. i will take a company of DAPS over Apaches any day. and the maintenance to flight hour ratio is ungodly lower on 60's than it is on the 64s

If the DAPS was capable of doing what the 64 was, the army would gladly have the same lift/attack aircraft. It simply is not. The block III apache is significantly faster than the current block II's and 60's as well.
I wont go over the actual specs of the block III. But the 60's are going to be scrambling trying to keep up now. Show me some video's of a 60 has the maneuverability to do barrel rolls and we will talk. Less maneuverable by a LOT.
@saxrulez Lets see where to start. You think I have just seen videos of DAPS when I have seen them in action personally. The apache was adopted before the DAP itself was brought to be what it is today and I CAN GUARANTEE you if the it was a choice from the start between the Apache and the DAP the army would have picked the DAP. The DAP carries in many minds more armament than a 64. The can carry their own spare armament so they can land and the crew chiefs hop out and rearm them.
@saxrulez If the block III is finally faster than a 60 than congratulations welcome to the war finally. This isn't air to air combat here so speed becomes almost irrelevant. What you need to keep in mind is the 60's can carry more and put more effective rounds on target. dont worry the first change to the block III's will be more avionics and put them back right where they started.
@remusbrooks The armament is not why the daps is inferior to the apache. It is 100% the differences in avionics. 60's actually can NOT carry more than an apache. Quit quoting other people's "facts" and actually learn the real numbers. The 64 can also stay in the air much longer.
Also I'm not saying the UH-60 is a bad helicopter in any way shape or form. It is an amazing bird, but it is not an attack helicopter. It can do the job of one, but it just doesn't have the avionics that make the 64 so incredible.
The maneuverability of the 64 has to be experienced to be believed. The ability to be flying over a target, be engaged from underneath/behind you. Entering an extreme cyclic climb until the aircraft is about to stall, rolling it 120 degrees and coming out in a dive the opposite direction oriented on the target can be invaluable. This maneuverability isn't possible in a 60.

@camelridingjihad Apaches are the slowest and most worthless dual engine helicopter the military has. they were great for tank killing but we dont do that anymore. i will take a company of DAPS over Apaches any day. and the maintenance to flight hour ratio is ungodly lower on 60's than it is on the 64s

If the DAPS was capable of doing what the 64 was, the army would gladly have the same lift/attack aircraft. It simply is not. The block III apache is significantly faster than the current block II's and 60's as well.

I wont go over the actual specs of the block III. But the 60's are going to be scrambling trying to keep up now. Show me some video's of a 60 has the maneuverability to do barrel rolls and we will talk. Less maneuverable by a LOT.

@saxrulez Lets see where to start. You think I have just seen videos of DAPS when I have seen them in action personally. The apache was adopted before the DAP itself was brought to be what it is today and I CAN GUARANTEE you if the it was a choice from the start between the Apache and the DAP the army would have picked the DAP. The DAP carries in many minds more armament than a 64. The can carry their own spare armament so they can land and the crew chiefs hop out and rearm them.

@saxrulez If the block III is finally faster than a 60 than congratulations welcome to the war finally. This isn't air to air combat here so speed becomes almost irrelevant. What you need to keep in mind is the 60's can carry more and put more effective rounds on target. dont worry the first change to the block III's will be more avionics and put them back right where they started.

@remusbrooks The armament is not why the daps is inferior to the apache. It is 100% the differences in avionics. 60's actually can NOT carry more than an apache. Quit quoting other people's "facts" and actually learn the real numbers. The 64 can also stay in the air much longer.

Also I'm not saying the UH-60 is a bad helicopter in any way shape or form. It is an amazing bird, but it is not an attack helicopter. It can do the job of one, but it just doesn't have the avionics that make the 64 so incredible.

The maneuverability of the 64 has to be experienced to be believed. The ability to be flying over a target, be engaged from underneath/behind you. Entering an extreme cyclic climb until the aircraft is about to stall, rolling it 120 degrees and coming out in a dive the opposite direction oriented on the target can be invaluable. This maneuverability isn't possible in a 60.

@mocatz187 Yeah I thought too, but the thing is the ground gives off a signature(and blocks behind it) so when the chopper lands in a loose ground like that its lots of tiny peices of ground all projecting their cold signature and blocking the heat from the chopper.
In games you can see through smoke because they are smaller particles and usually less thick than this
