i find little is to be taken from this video, The honey badger is designed to take apart bee hives. The lion isn't. The badgers claws dig and it's thick skin stop most of the stings. What is the point you are making here?
@lennyh14 the "killer" bee is a combination of the african honey bee and the european honey bee. The venom in the "killer" bee is no different, they are just far more aggressive and reproduce in higher number
Ricky, a tiger (or twenty) vs a swarm of bees is an impossible battle. Billions of bees can be in one nest. Lions aren't used to dealing with bees, while honey badgers are. (I want to see you vs a swarm)
i like both animals lions are good in their own way just like honey badgers but honey badgers being much smaller they deserve to be called brave especially if they can stand up to lions and they do!
There's a difference between going into a nest to eat larvae and moving away from a nest that is above you - note that the honeybadger didn't kill any bees, but rather just ate the larvae and left
it would be no surprise if the badger can stop some bullets.Even I can.Btw, by "rip you in half" means that it will meat grind your torso to the point where only your head, maybe shoulders, and legs will be distinguishable.40% of you will be yards away and messed up.You can research that stuff, it's called APLP for Armor Piercing, Limited Penetration.
@kiyutski dude, there are some shity ass bullets on this planet. There are bullets that can't even crack a person's skull, yet there are bullets(smaller than even 50 cal. in size but are internationally banned from use in war because of destructive power) that can rip you in half with just one bullet and do more damage by far than a few shots with any shotgun, and can penetrate through thick steal. That shit can probably kill an elephant with one shot.

Dude, you're an idiot. It must be really bothering you that the honey badger has ZERO chance of killing a lion in a real fight, but that's the simple truth.
Sure, if cornered by a lion it would probably fight back, but if a lion REALLY wants to kill a honey badger (which would probably never happen unless the lion is REALLY hungry) the badger would get owned in a matter of seconds. If you believe the opposite, I feel sorry for your stupidity.
@brobbus0 I don't get bothered by much actually, even asinine flamers who have nothing better to do but look though old comments and attempt to exacerbate dead issues. It is I, sir, that feels sorry for your reading comprehension. If you'd read carefully, which you didn't, you would find the words, 'reportedly' and 'have'- not 'always'. When you throw around words like "idiot" or "stupidity" you should be certain that you're not coming off stupid or idiotic. Fail. Please, do pay attention.
@stztms Too bad those insults were not directed to you, but to the author of the video (whose logic is, indeed "idiotic"), as pointed out by the fact that that message above doesn't cointain "@stztms". It also came BEFORE the message directed to you, so I don't even know how you got confused... I would understand if it came after the one directed to you, which could have made you think it was a continuation of the previous one. Maybe you're the one with reading comprehension problems.
@stztms In any case, so that we end up the argument here, sorry for the misunderstanding... no, I never thought your message was "idiotic", and no, I did not call you an "idiot"... and I know what you meant (that the honey badger can seriously wound or even kill a lion in some circumstances) although I still think that those circumstances are VERY unlikely.
The video and especially the comment to the video made by the author, that is another story: yes, I do think that one is idiotic.
@brobbus0 a lion could probaly kill a badger (actually im sure he could) but it would certainly NOT be over in a matter over seconds i once saw 3 lions trying to kill a badger and it took them 30 minutes also lions don't eat badgers even if they are really hungry they would just steal something from a hyena
id love to see a honey badger kill a buffalo, then a fair comparison could be made.... or evennn.... a honey lion. that would conquer everywhere on earth forever, then add a honey lion space suit and there is pure universal domination.
@joshmb24 I think the line in the sand is that they are completely different animals that share the "big cat" distinction...just like boxing(lions) and MMA(tigers) are just "fighting sports". One is more dynamic, versatile and intelligent than the other. It's ok to like both, though.
The honey badger has really loose skin that isn't easily penetrated. so the bees don't bother it much at all. but the skin of the lions is much closer to the bone and muscle tissue of their bodies so they feel the sting more
Hey fag. Honey badgers were genetically designed to go after such prey. Does it look like the lions hunt bee's for a living? Lions dont have capability to get stung for no reason dumb fuck. Only thing overrated here is your peanut brain.
@GeorgeCassells (con't, other videos on HB) ...the video entitled "Moholoholo Rehab Center Intro" by Animal Rehab (NOT the one of the same name by LiberatiProduction) starting @ 2:42. The same video shows two honey badgers exhibiting jaw-dropping problem solving skills in the section starting @ 3:25. Finally, if you go over to vimeo.com, the video "Badger Escape - The System - Healing Power of Nature Series" has the testimonal of a game warden on the lovability (!) of these animals.
wow.... this must be the scariest experiences being that close to these cannibal eating predators.... but over all exciting!!! I have never seen a lion up close in my whole life.... never even been to a zoo and I'm 40yrs old very, very sad... LOL.... maybe i better get my little rear end down to one of the local zoo's... lol...
hahaha. Who is this kid who made this? I've actually only stumbled upon the epicness that is the honey badger tonight, but here's what I've learnt:
They're fearless, vicious, psychotic, and insanely selfish. What I have found no sign of however, is 'wit'. Look the word up little kid.
As for lions, I feel like I've always known about them, because they're fucking awesome, majestic animals, that perfectly represent the wild and the laws of nature.
@GeorgeCassells there's a lot more to the honey badger than the "baddest, toughest" videos show. It is an extraordinarily tenacious and violent animal, but it has to be. It's the size of a medium / small dog, has litters of only one cub which must be reared for over a year, and even then only half of the cubs born make it to adulthood.
It's an extraordinarily intelligent animal and can make use of tools. See the videos "Honey Badger Intelligence" and "Stoffle Escapes!"...along with...
Wingnut787: You have this dumbass figured out. I think he hates lions also. Probably a tiger freak or something. One thing is certain and that is he knows nothing about lions. I wonder if he knows anything more about honey badgers than they like honey and are tough as hell. LOL
I can do this too!! You know, take other people's videos off of youtube and edit them, and put in some default windows movie maker captions showing that the only knowledge I have on those videos is derrived from watching those said videos. Then I'll post it as my own with a whole bunch of rediculus tags and see how many hits I can get so I can go to my middle school and brag about it at lunch time.
@kainfury Please tell me you're joking. "It takes between 22 and 28 lions to take down a sleeping honey badger who's temporarily in a coma due to ingesting King Cobra's venom"?!? "If the Honey badger is at his maximum health it would take 264 to 288 lions to kill it."
retard. lions simply do not have the physiological and morphological adaptations to cope with the killer bee stings because they do not need to eat bee larvae or the honey. lions are adapted to hunt and kill things like buffalo, gazelles and zebras which provide far greater energy, enabling the lion to maintain its ecological niche. My point concluding at; how can a honey badger possibly kill a buffalo, gazelle or zebra, which is far larger and faster? It cannot. Therefore you are a retard.
@Apocaliptificater Honey Badgers have reportedly killed Cape Buffalo...and if you believe the rumblings of the locals...male lions as well. While I believe the premise of this video is flawed, so is the use of the word retard for shock value in an otherwise well thought out argument.
That said, pound for pound the honey badger is the more interesting and brave of the two.
@stztms Show me ONE video where a honey badger kills (or even is able to fight "as equal") a large animal such as a lion, a buffalo, a crocodile, or a leopard. There is NONE and you know why, because the fact that it can do it is a urban legend. Sure, the honey badger is strong for its size, it evolved to survive venomous bites, and it is fearless, but it's still an animal, not a supernatural being. A mammal can't kill a predator 25 or 50 times larger by mere strength. It just doesn't happen.
@Apocaliptificater You know i was jsut about to right that... respect man... anyone who think the honey badger is better ebcause it has capabilities to take on a smaller, violent hords of bee, wheres lions are jsut yeah "ecologically suited for larger animals" is indeed... a thick headed, arrogant, and obviously ill educated in the fields of adaptation and method of survival(as far as BASICS go XD) Retard.
@Apocaliptificater Maybe so, but a honey badger will kill and eat a monitor lizard that is 10 feet long and 150 lbs. That's 5 times it's own weight, Don't remember anything about lions tackling anything 5 times their weight single handed.
@1who2what3where4when i dont think u have a verry good point in your arguement dude.....first off a 150lbs lizard is nothing compared to what a lion could take down, and a lion is a pretty big animal that can get up to over 500lbs so if it were going to take down something 5 times its size, that animal would be over 2500lbs thats 16 times the size of that lizard...so theres not really much that can kill an animal that big, besides pack hunters and humans...so yea weight has nuthin to do with it
@10McNair It's the size of the prey relative to the predator.Pound for pound a honey badger is a far more dangerous predator seeing as it takes down prey a lot larger than itself without needing a pride to help it.
@1who2what3where4when yea i gotta admit that a badger is a bad bitch because it is able to do that, but still its not more dangerous than a lion...if you were to come across either of them in the wilderness you would much prefer the badger over the lion because the lion is a bigger threat, not because of size, but cuz a lion could easily kill you and eat your ass lol, a badger might give you a bad day thats about it..but im just saying that size of prey relative to size of predator doesnt matter
@1who2what3where4when a badger might be the better adaptive predator because it is able to kill a wide variety of animals some being 5 times its size, but it is deffinitely not the more dangerous predator
@10McNair LOL your funny, maybe if honey badgers outnumbered it's prey or mostly hunted sick, wounded or old animals like lions I might have agreed with you.
I fail to see how lions were "owned" in this video? They were displaying annoyance at most and as far as I can tell in this video did NOT run scared. As cool as I think honey badgers are, I think you're plucking at straws try to put down an animal that you don't like. Because you're a fanboy.
Clink the link to watch this piece of shit not only run like a pussy and try to scare a leopard away with it's infamous 'smelly ass' defence, only to fail and then run into a bees nest like a dumbass and probably get murdered shortly after the video ends.
"An angry honey badger will keep coming back for more, even if it means it gets stung to death"
LOL this is so stupid!! the lion were not trying to get the honey from the bees like the honey badger...im sorry but i wouldnt be sitting around a huge bee hive either if i wasnt trying to get any honey...this guy who made this video is a completely fucking retarded!
they aren't overrated, they are magnificent animals but just in a different sence to honey badgers. Honey badgers cant chase down zebras etc and lions cant stand up to bees. Humans much stupider as we are destroying the damned planet when we have the ability to stop but lions just do what they need to survive
LOL, the creator of this video is a complete imbecile. The honey badger's skin is much different from lion's. The honey badger has evolved to develop a resistance to killer bee stings. The lion has not developed such resistances due to the fact they are big game hunters and KB larvae would not satisfy their huge appetite. Getting stung by bee's does not make them unintelligent.
The only unintelligent animals here are you and anyone who agrees with you ignorant idiotic views.
Difference in agression and intelligence....lions are carnivores...not worth getting stung when you have hundreds of pounds of meat to feed on...moron.
@CameronStewart you cannot kick a honey badger (that is totally different from a badger) because your kick would do absolutely nothing to him and he would bite you soon after. But you can run away and he won't get you (its top speed is very low). And you can use a strategy to make it harmless (like letting him bite a boot or something else and grab it by the scruffle) like african people and rangers do. So you're right. If you face a lion in the open savannah and he's hungry YOU ARE FUCKED!!!
Do you know what you're talking about??? They have completely different evolutionary paths. Lions will not put up with bees nearby because they have no gain, a Ratel puts up with being stung because there is a huge reward in the protein in the bees' larva. If a Ratel could routinely kill a Wildebeest or a Buffallo they wouldn't bother with bees at all
I could kill a honey badger, a nest of killer bees, and a lion. That makes me the most aggresive and inteligent? I could be the New King of the Jungle.
Honeybadger might not give a shit, but lion cubs win the cutesy awards.

I would understand if it came after the one directed to you, which could have made you think it was a continuation of the previous one. Maybe you're the one with reading comprehension problems.
brobbus0 8 months ago
@stztms In any case, so that we end up the argument here, sorry for the misunderstanding... no, I never thought your message was "idiotic", and no, I did not call you an "idiot"... and I know what you meant (that the honey badger can seriously wound or even kill a lion in some circumstances) although I still think that those circumstances are VERY unlikely.
The video and especially the comment to the video made by the author, that is another story: yes, I do think that one is idiotic.
brobbus0 8 months ago
@brobbus0 a lion could probaly kill a badger (actually im sure he could) but it would certainly NOT be over in a matter over seconds i once saw 3 lions trying to kill a badger and it took them 30 minutes also lions don't eat badgers even if they are really hungry they would just steal something from a hyena

id love to see a honey badger kill a buffalo, then a fair comparison could be made.... or evennn.... a honey lion. that would conquer everywhere on earth forever, then add a honey lion space suit and there is pure universal domination.

skeezyfbaby1990 8 months ago 26
@joshmb24 I think the line in the sand is that they are completely different animals that share the "big cat" distinction...just like boxing(lions) and MMA(tigers) are just "fighting sports". One is more dynamic, versatile and intelligent than the other. It's ok to like both, though.
stztms 9 months ago
The honey badger has really loose skin that isn't easily penetrated. so the bees don't bother it much at all. but the skin of the lions is much closer to the bone and muscle tissue of their bodies so they feel the sting more

why is this kid putting down the lions lmao

Hey fag. Honey badgers were genetically designed to go after such prey. Does it look like the lions hunt bee's for a living? Lions dont have capability to get stung for no reason dumb fuck. Only thing overrated here is your peanut brain.

The same video shows two honey badgers exhibiting jaw-dropping problem solving skills in the section starting @ 3:25.
I like both animals, but you're a dumbass bud.
GeorgeCassells 10 months ago
@GeorgeCassells you're absolutely right, the females go out and get food while the males relax and sleep, exactly how the laws of nature should be.
camsac 10 months ago
@GeorgeCassells there's a lot more to the honey badger than the "baddest, toughest" videos show. It is an extraordinarily tenacious and violent animal, but it has to be. It's the size of a medium / small dog, has litters of only one cub which must be reared for over a year, and even then only half of the cubs born make it to adulthood.
It's an extraordinarily intelligent animal and can make use of tools. See the videos "Honey Badger Intelligence" and "Stoffle Escapes!"...along with...

Fact: It takes between 22 and 28 lions to take down a sleeping honey badger who's temporarily in a coma due to ingesting King Cobra's venom.
If the Honey badger is at his maximum health it would take 264 to 288 lions to kill it.

And you would be running from all three, does that make you unintelligent and overrated. Pain and fear only tell you that your still alive.
orangemane71 1 year ago
retard. lions simply do not have the physiological and morphological adaptations to cope with the killer bee stings because they do not need to eat bee larvae or the honey. lions are adapted to hunt and kill things like buffalo, gazelles and zebras which provide far greater energy, enabling the lion to maintain its ecological niche. My point concluding at; how can a honey badger possibly kill a buffalo, gazelle or zebra, which is far larger and faster? It cannot. Therefore you are a retard.
Apocaliptificater 1 year ago 56
@Apocaliptificater Honey Badgers have reportedly killed Cape Buffalo...and if you believe the rumblings of the locals...male lions as well. While I believe the premise of this video is flawed, so is the use of the word retard for shock value in an otherwise well thought out argument.
That said, pound for pound the honey badger is the more interesting and brave of the two.
stztms 9 months ago
@stztms Show me ONE video where a honey badger kills (or even is able to fight "as equal") a large animal such as a lion, a buffalo, a crocodile, or a leopard. There is NONE and you know why, because the fact that it can do it is a urban legend. Sure, the honey badger is strong for its size, it evolved to survive venomous bites, and it is fearless, but it's still an animal, not a supernatural being. A mammal can't kill a predator 25 or 50 times larger by mere strength. It just doesn't happen.
brobbus0 8 months ago
@Apocaliptificater You know i was jsut about to right that... respect man... anyone who think the honey badger is better ebcause it has capabilities to take on a smaller, violent hords of bee, wheres lions are jsut yeah "ecologically suited for larger animals" is indeed... a thick headed, arrogant, and obviously ill educated in the fields of adaptation and method of survival(as far as BASICS go XD) Retard.
Lugitorix 8 months ago
@Apocaliptificater Maybe so, but a honey badger will kill and eat a monitor lizard that is 10 feet long and 150 lbs. That's 5 times it's own weight, Don't remember anything about lions tackling anything 5 times their weight single handed.
1who2what3where4when 7 months ago
@1who2what3where4when i dont think u have a verry good point in your arguement dude.....first off a 150lbs lizard is nothing compared to what a lion could take down, and a lion is a pretty big animal that can get up to over 500lbs so if it were going to take down something 5 times its size, that animal would be over 2500lbs thats 16 times the size of that lizard...so theres not really much that can kill an animal that big, besides pack hunters and humans...so yea weight has nuthin to do with it
10McNair 5 months ago
@10McNair It's the size of the prey relative to the predator.Pound for pound a honey badger is a far more dangerous predator seeing as it takes down prey a lot larger than itself without needing a pride to help it.
1who2what3where4when 5 months ago
@1who2what3where4when yea i gotta admit that a badger is a bad bitch because it is able to do that, but still its not more dangerous than a lion...if you were to come across either of them in the wilderness you would much prefer the badger over the lion because the lion is a bigger threat, not because of size, but cuz a lion could easily kill you and eat your ass lol, a badger might give you a bad day thats about it..but im just saying that size of prey relative to size of predator doesnt matter
10McNair 5 months ago
@1who2what3where4when a badger might be the better adaptive predator because it is able to kill a wide variety of animals some being 5 times its size, but it is deffinitely not the more dangerous predator
10McNair 5 months ago
@10McNair LOL your funny, maybe if honey badgers outnumbered it's prey or mostly hunted sick, wounded or old animals like lions I might have agreed with you.
1who2what3where4when 5 months ago
@Apocaliptificater I can confirm this. Video poster is indeed retarded.

they aren't overrated, they are magnificent animals but just in a different sence to honey badgers. Honey badgers cant chase down zebras etc and lions cant stand up to bees. Humans much stupider as we are destroying the damned planet when we have the ability to stop but lions just do what they need to survive
maraseea 1 year ago
@maraseea Humans were smart enough to create computers and the internet so idiots like you can post on YouTube.
MsDeeksization 1 year ago
LOL, the creator of this video is a complete imbecile. The honey badger's skin is much different from lion's. The honey badger has evolved to develop a resistance to killer bee stings. The lion has not developed such resistances due to the fact they are big game hunters and KB larvae would not satisfy their huge appetite. Getting stung by bee's does not make them unintelligent.
The only unintelligent animals here are you and anyone who agrees with you ignorant idiotic views.

IAMARAGHAST 1 year ago
@CameronStewart you cannot kick a honey badger (that is totally different from a badger) because your kick would do absolutely nothing to him and he would bite you soon after. But you can run away and he won't get you (its top speed is very low). And you can use a strategy to make it harmless (like letting him bite a boot or something else and grab it by the scruffle) like african people and rangers do. So you're right. If you face a lion in the open savannah and he's hungry YOU ARE FUCKED!!!
ghostdog7575 1 year ago

zranger12 1 year ago
Do you know what you're talking about??? They have completely different evolutionary paths. Lions will not put up with bees nearby because they have no gain, a Ratel puts up with being stung because there is a huge reward in the protein in the bees' larva. If a Ratel could routinely kill a Wildebeest or a Buffallo they wouldn't bother with bees at all
