Honestly, this melody is one of my favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber compositions. I know that it makes the Phantom seem less menacing (and it IS important to keep the Phantom's dark nature), but it honestly does shed him in a very sypathetic light, which is just as important to his character. Next to this, this tune is heartwrenching, and sends out a very sad message. Love it, thanks for posting!

I can understand why it wasn't put in the movie in the end -- as beautiful as it is, and as much as I'm sure he wanted to use it, there's no real logical place for it to GO in the movie/musical. It's a wonderful little side-song for the Phantom, but I can't think of a sensible place for it to go.
