It is far easier and far better to use the radial gradient tool rather than freehand.

@jimmylace wow, i totally forgot that i had done this tutorial. yeah, i use the radial gradient as well, but i was part of a forum and one of the members wanted to know the best way to make the sphere freehand with no gradients
