  • Way cool that he knew he'd finished the guy and just broke the hold and walked away.

  • And the referee never saw it....

  • LOL at Wattschoke - this is nothing new you numpty

  • Nice work Dion!

  • nice!

  • i love that choke. i put someone to sleep at florida's grapplers quest earlier this month

  • Great!!!!!

  • lol! thats Fn nice. I like the crowds reaction. Im sure thats gives you a good feeling.

  • that was so fuckin tight!! what is the name of that submission?!

  • look it up under the "baseball bat choke!" or the "baseball choke"

  • Damn! that move always puts people to sleep quickly.

  • holy crap that worked? its still kind of a low percentage move in my opinion at least from standing like that. it obviously works from mount or knee on belly tho

  • Nice! I learned this choke a couple of nights ago, but from knee on belly, and it gets really tight, really fast. I wanna try this choke out from standing now.

  • no GI please :)

  • I thought I was the only one who knew this choke!

  • holy shit is rite, WTF did he do to him

  • its crazy that the ref didnt even catch it until it was too late. very nice and inspiring.

  • Haha, Dions the shit!!! This guys been in there with the best of them, Lavoto Jr., Mike Fowler....he maybe old but he will still whoop all ur asses!! haha

  • he is my BJJ instructor. BTW he is a black belt now.

    Dion that was nice...

  • very nice. definitely one of the most efficient chokes. about the whole "come face me like a man without grabbing onto my clothes", this is brazilian jiu jitsu a good number of chokes use the gi and besides that i've seen this choke work with a t-shirt. good work dude.

  • very nice choke man! nicely delivered. thumbs up! I tried that choke today it works really nicely.

  • awesome choke!!! how did you do that? hehehe!

  • wow book2455.

maybe you should just walk around shirtless or with a rashguard from now on.

  • Very very nice choke! Keep it up, you executed it very smoothly..watch the secret of this choke to do it so efficient?

    Later rutger

  • I think you were asking what is the secret instead of Watch. If so, there are many details that matter. One hand palm up the other palm down like your holding a baseball bat. Next your hands must be touching with no room in between. The main secret is to turn to your stomach and slowly throw them over you shoulder. It is so tight they often go to sleep. But you must have all the details right.

  • @dionwatts hehehehe im 15 and i want to enroll in the school wrestling team i use to wrestle on the streets alot! never lost once and im only 5'6 my arms have 216 pounds of force on em my legs have 362 and i do this thing where i grab the guy on his arm and litterally crush his ribs i can smash anything with my forearm =)

  • Like you said to each his own. I fight both with a gi and without. I have different moves for each. But I prefer with a gi. But the "come face me like a man comment" makes me want to ask if you think in a bar fight they won't grab your jacket or shirt if it helps them. Will you tell them that they are not facing you like a man? If a guy bigger than me is trying to pound me and I know how to put him to sleep with his own shirt or jacket then I say more power to me.

  • @dionwatts i prefer no gi cause im used to training no gi and whenever i train gi i dont take to mind what my opponent is setting up just by tugging on it

  • @dionwatts it seems to be the common reply to those that don't understand the Gi-game.

  • I never understand the 'do you feel guilty' comments when a a guy gets choked unconscious. Of course the dude shouldve tapped.

  • Gi chokes often times cut blood rather than air-flow. Sometimes you'll be breathing fine and you seriously can't tell you're in trouble before everything goes black.

  • So true! The first and only time I've been choked out was with this exact move. I was rollin' with a guy 110lbs heavier than me and he grabbed "the baseball bat" when I went to take his back and he pulled me to his side as he rolled to his belly and the next thing I know my ears are ringing and I'm in la-la land. Quite a buzz you gotta try it!

  • what choke was that? i couldn't see from that distance and camera angle. looked super effective though.

  • Beautiful choke..I saw the technique on Machado's website and now I've seen it in action. I noticed that he did a side fall, then north-south, then he turned on to his belly giving up his back. That's when Melvin went to sleep. I guess the choke gets REAL deep with those moves...wow

  • What bey were you guys in this competition?

  • Not sure what bey means?

  • Belt

  • We were Purple at the time. It might have been an open weight class too.

  • I heard O SHIT lol...

  • Dude This is my uncle......... He got killed (Rick Davis) My mothers name(Tammy lynn Davis)

  • Funny who comes across this video. Tell your uncle I said hello next time you see him. All in all he seemed to be an alright guy.

  • Sweet. I do a modify version to that ,only from the mount though. I like your attitude on Jujitsu I have the same views. For me its really self defense and Body Chess, where you feel the your pawns when you loose them :)

  • Never had an interest in MMA for myself. I love to watch it though. I love jiu-jitsu because it feels like playing a game of Chess or an honest poker game. MMA is like Poker with a bunch of wild cards. One punch can take out the best Jiu-jitsu guy on any given day. Plus the pay is bad and the turnover rate is too fast. I do hope to help train a fighter some day for MMA. Any serious fighters in the Simi Valley area feel free to contact me.

  • Actually it was at the "2nd American International Championships of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu". I think the name was as long as the tournament. I train at Jean-Jacques Machado's in Tarzana, CA. The video is a few years old. I am sporting a Black belt these days and even though I was known for that choke, I only do it once in awhile now. I have moved on to moves that don't put me in a bad position when they go wrong.

  • hey you plan going into the mma some day? lol melving guillard got submitted by joe stevenson after all that shit talking

  • Do you feel guilty after you choke someone unconscious like that? Or do you think, "He shoulda tapped"

  • "He shoulda tapped" If you watch it he was trying to go to my back. I am sure he would have tried to choke me out as well. I was just quicker. And he woke up shortly after that anyways unharmed.

  • nice choke but ive only seen it when your on top of the oppenent and you go north to south, sweet, that was at naga right, where do you train?

  • Holy Cow! I'm gonna try that tonight at class!

  • nitey, nite!

  • that was fast

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
