Not trying to start a little internet battle but scalloping a fret-board doesn't make the strings "softer" it makes vibrato easier. It allows you to really get under the strings and move them around to give that great vibrato sound. You have to have a light touch when playing though because if you press down hard the tone will go sharp.

And I have a Stratocaster custom, in which I have a scalopped fretboard so I know :P Interesting stuff, but personally I get crazy doing some chords and hearing some fucking sharp notes...

I think its called an "attenuator" Yngwie.

Man, built in attenuator in a tube amp, I wish I patented that idea.

Slash's model has one as well but its on the front of the head labled "power".

It's basically a Master-master volume, instead of a single master volume being placed after the poweramp stage there is another power attenuator placed before the speaker output. The hole idea is that you can run a power amp at full blast and lower the overall volume out the speakers.

That's still a massive rig, there's probably 30K in amps right there.

@HurricaneTBag He doesn't have a huge audience, but I'd guess about 70% of his audience are guitarists themselves. Yngwie has signature Fenders and Marshalls, so it's not a regular endorsement deal - he gets a lot more than standard endorsees (eg, prototypes for upgraded sig models).

Also, I'm in no way saying everything up there was free for him, I'm just saying the companies that he makes money for have probably helped him out. He'll never have to pay for one of his own models.
