This truly is an amazing game. The gameplay I admit is okay, not the greatest but not bad either. The story and soundtrack definitely make up for that. It's been awhile since it released but if anyone gets interested, I strongly suggest you pick it up for the story (and play through New game+!). It's also incredibly cheap now.

There's 2 versions of this game in Japan, Replicant for PS3 features a young protagonist, while the other version, Gestalt for Xbox, features a much older protagonist.

Gestalt was the original intended version but they created Replicant to appeal to Japan (since Japan likes younger heroes instead of old ones, Example: FF12). Gestalt was the only one to receive a Western release (being renamed just NieR) and it was released for both Xbox and PS3. In Replicant, you're Yonah's (3:13) brother, while in Gestalt you're her father.

They released 1 DLC add-on for NieR, but it contributes nothing to the story and is just endurance battles and costumes. Not worth it.
