And Hayden is the guy who tried to say that the stipulation of probable cause in search and seizure IS NOT in the constitution. These guys are right out of the shadow gov.
I don't think TPM in any shape or form implies that wiretapping IS legal, all they do in this clip is letting a congress official state his opinion about the state of legality of what has been done so far. Big differences if you ask me. Plus FAUX "news" never does the real news, it's mostly unrepresentative partisan-skewed commentary, so you are wrong in by making such comparison as well..
Wow, you obviously don't know the difference between a youtube/media station releasing Broadcast News and A Broadcast News organization. TPM just relays the message, they didn't say anything was true. Not only that, but you are going to have a hard time getting facts if you keep watching Faux Noise.
Look, we may have to round up a few million Americans, lock them in FEMA camps, do medical experiments on them, torture them, and put them in ovens....but damn it, it's legal! And after all, it is for "national security"!
fair enough but there is more watch over than just if they are spying on Americans illegally. Who know what else they are keeping secret. Self oversight is how we got stuck in the banking mess, it will not work for the NSA either
sorry, *not enough* oversight, i was exaggerating with what i first said. Deregulation was the marching tune for 20 years. I am sure you heard about deregulation right? That means removing oversight. My point isn't so black and white, please be a little thoughtful with your understanding of what i am saying.
Yes, I have heard of it. It wasn't just Republican administrations, if that's what you're getting at with that "marching tune for 20 years" part. Carter and LBJ have also heard of deregulation.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
It is the Horseman of Death. Johnny Dethsquad Negropnte. If there was a guy that could be the bibical horseman of death in the Book of revalations it is Negorponte.

these spooks are creepy and all they do is perpetrate fear - what they are most concerned with is losing control over the bee hive.

if the justice department is corrupt than anything can be deemed legal.

TPM says wiretapping legal... Guess that makes it so...
TPM is to liberals...
what FoxNews is to conservatives...
nothing but skewed propaganda.

I love how Hayden is now with "The Chertoff Group".
For those in America who STILL do not know how bad we are ALL being fucked, I now envy you.
Ignorance IS truly bliss.

"its so complex" aka we are in the same situation as with the banks, these things are so complex there is no oversight!
darkally 2 years ago 6
darkally, You say that like the banks had no oversight.
But you wouldn't need oversight of the NSA if they weren't spying on us in the first place.

So we didn't have any government agencies or departments watching over financial institutions? None?
