I really wanted to see PJ right in my hometown of Chicago that year. Luckily a week later the great alternative station q101 played the whole entire concert on the radio. It was two or three hours of the best concert i've never been to :)
@quadbravo I have the official bootleg of this show, and on it you can hear the crowd reacting quite clearly. You can also hear the crowd sing the first few lines of "Daughter" before Ed takes the mic, which you can't hear on this clip either.
@quadbravo I know! That's why so many Republican actors get elected. Seriously? Hollywood? Pearl Jam has about as much to do with "Hollywood" as I do.
I came to post here cause I made a song called "keep on" and I was hoping you guys could check it out, since we listen to the same kinda music ,thanksks :)
great video! Eddie Vedder is awesome....speaking of Daughter, Check out my video of my 6 year old daughter doing an impression of Eddie Vedder...funny stuff!
Normally i am an advocate for a bands early material, but i was around for their original stuff, and now find that i like their recent material much more than the 10 days.
I'm a conservative but I don't care what my favorite bands ideological views are. It's not like they care what your ideology is. Sure you may disagree with others political views but I beleive politics isn't everything.
don't see what the big deal is...loved the way he put bush in with "the walls" lyrics. i guess if you're a republican it will offend you. i've seen PJ like 9 or 10 times and this is one song i always look forward too... don't think i've heard performed the same way twice. love the way eddie always mixes up the sing-along at the end.
Oh yeah I was there Woot woot! High as a kite too. Anyone remember the fireworks going off at the perfect time? Yeah sweet show... But what was with dennis rodman and lance armstrong? Still pretty cool. The sign translator was drinking a bottle of champagne and dancing during the last song. Just killer show moments like that when everyones singin and havin a kickass time in Chicago.
I think the spreading of ideas and views is what made this country. So think of it as spreading his opinion on issues being political. It's like calling Rage Against the Machine wrong for the way they chose to express the opinion they wished to display. Freedom of speech is by far the best freedom the U.S. has and their choice are exercising should not be criticized on the seperation of music and politics.
I have to say I disagree with the liberalism, but this is America, people can say whatever the fuck they want here, and that's what makes us better than other countries. So by bashing a president that they feel (and arguably did) hurt America, they are celebrating America. And if you saw something objectionable happening, and you had the influence they have, wouldn't you speak up?
@krentistthedentist i hate to make you feel un-special but 95% of countries these days have freedom of speech, in that respect America isn't special. Nothing personal mate i'm just setting the record straight
i think music is culture, and the culture isn't possible living with people whose love to capitalism&power could destroy all with wars, censure and some kind of same shit.
You know, on one hand I get people who say "I don't want to hear an artist's political views," but at the same time, I tend to side with the artist. Vedder feels like he's in a position of influence (which I think he is), or at the very least has the opportunity to voice his opinion to a great number of people willing to listen (which he undisputably has). I say if he's got the opinion and feels like he can say something to help, more power to him... Have I used up the character count yet? lol
I don't want to hear an artist's political views........lol what???
thats just stupid......you pay to see that person and if that person wants to say kill all babies that person has the right to say it......fucking sensitive people when it comes to their own beliefs....and especially defending a scumbag like bush.
i agree. people are way too sensitive about what others beliefs are. it all boils down to them being insecure about their own belifs. whatever. fuck em.

Yes, we have many Bush haters here. This performance supports the notion of "Shut up and sing." Conservative or liberal, I do not want to hear the political views of any artist. Eddie is extremely talented. However, his liberal rants are too predictable and spoil the performance. Check out PJ unplugged for his views on abortion.
