apparently, you didn't read the info. It works as long as there is water in the glass, it's part of the physics behind it. Meaning, if you set it up to strike your laptop, it would only trike it the first time, unless you manage to submerge your laptop in water without destroying it. And if you can figure out a way to do that, you'd best sell your idea because alot of physicists are going to be very interested in how you changed the properties of electricity.

All other things aside, pretty sure it would not have enough energy to depress a laptop computer key. The drinking birds just about manage keep themselves going and can be quite critical to set up.
