Why does everyone bash the newer games. Yes, it doesn't quite stick the puzzle solving, survival but it still has aspects and are super fun! I like playing both types. I like that they can give us variety and not give us the same thing over and over again. I like both playstyles, they are both incredibly fun! I think that this game is turning out too be more of a zombie killing game, such as left 4 dead. I don't think this game will turn out bad, it's just that a lot of what made resident evil special won't be in here. Every single person that talks down the Resident Evil franchise for the changes that have been made to them since Resident Evil 4 came out is a moron. At first I didn't even like the change, but you know what... it turned out to be an amazing game. 5 was just as good with the Coop factor. Without change you get the same old boring crap. Resident Evil 0 through 3 including Code Veronica were all the same minus the fact that you had 2 characters at the same time in 0.

@bada5586 Disagree. RE4 setting was actually by far one of the best of the entire series (speaking as a player since '96). They lost it a bit on the castle levels, but the early levels in the village really caught that sense of isolation and being a "fish-out-of-water". Being barricaded in a house when all you can hear the buzzing saw of Dr. Salvatore and the groans of the amassing minions outside, with only 2 shotgun rounds left really got the palms sweating.

The way I take it is that gaming has officially gone online, I know that the scary part of Resident Evil is being isolated, if you die you start where you saved, and that there's... well zombies. The thing you gotta realize is the you can't be isolated anymore, I mean. If you don't want it to be online, but I don't think anyone wants that. I just hope Revelations is I bit scarier than RE5.

most games are taking the shooter route, I mean seriously, with the success of games like Left 4 Dead of course they'd make games like them.think about it, you aren't playing as the survivors in O.R.C. You are playing as an ELITE group of agents sent in to mop up the mess, your characters are not scared, they are not helpless, they are badasses, and what better way to demonstrate it than having it less horror. Even RE4 and 5, they faced doom and survived, they've overcome, it's quite dynamic.

I personally can't wait for "Resident Evil 3: Just Kidding" that erases everything from every RE game made after part 2 and onward and returns this series back to being one of the reasons why they popularized the survival horror genre to begin with. Bring the canon back to its roots and to the leading consoles like when it started. I'm interested in this game, but I like RE 1-3 best. I liked having to figure out how to get through the ruined Raccoon City in RE3 and worrying about Nemesis catching up with me. Heck, I even liked looking for keys.

Left 4 Dead is not scary AT ALL (I don't think it's supposed to be). Seeing the RE 2/3 story from a different angle will be neat. But, I'd like another RE in the classic style.

I agree about it being a true survival horror game (RE never really was too scary, though. Not like SH). If zombies got too close to you in the old games, you would be stuck in place for a bit and lose some health. I get the feeling the mercs will just punch zombies' heads off. And, they'll have lots of bullets. Maybe their supplies will get blown up?

I don't think I could play with the old 'tank' controls, though. D:
