I raged so hard at that stupid bitch (she's a girl) and told her to go back to watching her sparkling little gay vampires. This is epic beyond belief. This story blew my mind away when i was a kid. How freakin' amazing was the script, the VOICE ACTING, the visual design, the MUSIC? Legen... Wait for it... DARY!
with no hessitation i can safely say that this is or was the best game series ever..dont even need to go down to details right here(story, music, riddles, movement, secrets, dialoques and so on and on and on.. but surely people who have experienced this amazing saga are lucky in a way:) and yeh its a shame they dont release new material or even renew the existing one(moneymaker!!).. i think it will eventually come down for the fans to start creating new ones. i have some ideas already:P
@subsdancer - to be honest with you, as a fan as well, I have a quite different opinion. I' think that remaking LoK games may have some sense, in this I agree with you (but if they don't want to - don't force it on them - they surely have reasons and I'm sure they care about fans as well as money), but I'm afraid that the entire story has been told and everything that we fans need to know is already contained in all games, so making new games would be a failure IMO.
@lodziklocPL so what your telling me, is if they would release all the game saga in 1 box with all the episodes graphically imroved(not to much money or effort to be spent), then noone would buy it and they wouldnt make proffit.. id buy it outa respect:)
@subsdancer - that's not what I meant. I'm sure that many people would buy LoK remakes if they are ever made, but will this be a profit? I doubt it. Some fans may be sceptical - some may say "why should I buy remakes while I have originals?", some people that don't know LoK games might get interested in them - in this, I agree with you. But I'm saying that Eidos doesn't have unlimited money and that LoK storyline is actually finished - I can't see anything new that can be added to the series.

@skaters374 And technically Blood Omen 3. It is the meeting of both Blood Omen and Soul Reaver, both Kain's and Raziel's story, to an epic conclusion. That is how I viewed it anyways.
@ventiladordepeche There won't be a Soul Reaver 3 since Raziel was absorbed into the Reaver at the end of Defiance and reviving him would ruin the story (and fuck up the timeline). There was going to be a 6th game called Legacy of Kain: The Dark Prophecy, but it was cancelled 6 months into development in 2004. If they do make a 6th game it will likely be Blood Omen 3 or something else, but not Soul Reaver 3.

My older sister, who is 22, played this, she has all 3, and I got into them. There really isn't any more games like this. It's an epic strategy game. (:

Loved the LoK series from SR 1 to 3. I remember playing soul reaver 1 when i was around 6-9 i played the game countlessly finishing it and the same with SR 2-3. Unfortunantly not so many games are made so amazing as the SR series.

I never managed to get a copy of LoK blood omen 1 and 2 i started out with LoK : Soul Reaver and ended at Defaince and yes i do mean Defaince when i say SR 3. And yes i know that the series started out with Blood Omen. But thank you anyway for reminding me ;)
Blood Omen is on PSN for cheap. I still have my old CD I got from a local game shop back in '00. Great game, a lot more complex than the sequels which turned into more action style games, while BO has more of a old school Zelda feel.
Have to say I liked the games less and less with each installment, not the story mind you (although it did get a bit convoluted by Blood Omen 2), but Defiance's attempt to make it a DMC combo style action game.
@NeoDMC Blood Omen 2 was an abomination that we shall never speak of again (so bad that in the timeline that you can see in SR2 that the events of Blood Omen 2 are mentioned in one line saying "Events of Blood Omen 2" lol) but Blood Omen 1 was amazing one of the first games I ever played and it blew me away, The voice acting, music and general theme of it was so perfectly gothic and just...perfect *sniffs*.
@Fillask I think a Soul Reaver 3 is in order. I've played all of the games you mentioned, but Raziel can't be gone forever, get him the hell out of that sword! Haha, or they should do a prequel where you control Raziel as a vampire up until where he gets his wings ripped off and he is thrown into the abyss. They could do that, and it'd be awesome to control vampiric Raziel. I love him as a wraith the most, but I'm just saying.

Kain refused the sacrifice for the greater good, and it was, if Kain martyred himself there would be no more vampires and the sequence of events portrayed in Blood Omen 1 would repeat themselves in a similar fashion
The one thing that bothers me is that SR 2 is more story lined game and its linear,but other than that,epic story,gameplay,action and most of all that this series had provided me is: best gaming experience in my life,there is no better advanture/action game in the world than this...i wish there is 1 more sequel and im so sad that Tony Jay had passed away...he was a legend.RIP

Legacy of Kain will always be one of the most influenting things in my entire life. I adore the story, the characters...everything! I am proud to be one of those, who are able to appreciate and adore it with everything. Since many, many years.
I feel bad for the people who have not heard about this series. It has seriously been the best series of games that anyone has known, the storyline and everything is mind blowing. This series was ahead of it's time and I am thankful for being in the generation of discovering this beautiful series!

Guys i also wish there would be another game after Defiance but they wont be making a new one anymore. Why? Legacy of Kain is fucking awesome. When I first saw "Soul Reaver", as a trailer in Gex 3, it had turned me away from the game. I was little, and seeing the gore scared the hell out of me.

Well I was talking with a friend and we think Jason Isaac's is a contender for Kain (certainly with his Malfoy Wig on) plus he does give good anti-hero/villain and he has a good voice so he's a possible, hopefully if there is a script it'll be fan written because after Twishite we need a good vampire film and LoK suits the role fine.
A Movie would be good if they had someone who understood the story as director and decent actors and they'd have to make it a series not just one film. And they would need good voice actors
DMC is more action. LOK is more like story. But LOK's story is super uber twisted, since it was supposed to END on Soul Reaver ONE. So uhm, yeah both games are nice.
A good movie (who has seen a good movie about a videogame? I didn't) would be wonderful, if they used similar soundtrack like this one, instead of just shoving it with death metal (which wouldn't be bad, but IMO would take off it's originality).

Devil May Cry's gameplay is vastly superior to Soul Reaver's but that is where it ends, in story, characters, VA and presentation it doesn't hold a candle to Soul Reaver.

Storywise yea. I like the gameplay and humour (heh well LoK doesn't really have humour) that DMC has. Besides, they are completely diffirent genres. DMC is more about action. Legacy of Kain about exploring and plot.

Janos sparkles when he revives in Soul Reaver 2, Kain sparkles whenever using tk, or teleporting like in the trailers, or after defeating Elder God.
Also Kain has no shirt on, just naked chest. And Raziel has no pants, and his chest is exposed but for a scarf draped around his missing jaw and neck.

@NeoDMC Blood Omen 2 was an abomination that we shall never speak of again (so bad that in the timeline that you can see in SR2 that the events of Blood Omen 2 are mentioned in one line saying "Events of Blood Omen 2" lol) but Blood Omen 1 was amazing one of the first games I ever played and it blew me away, The voice acting, music and general theme of it was so perfectly gothic and just...perfect *sniffs*.

@Fillask I think a Soul Reaver 3 is in order. I've played all of the games you mentioned, but Raziel can't be gone forever, get him the hell out of that sword! Haha, or they should do a prequel where you control Raziel as a vampire up until where he gets his wings ripped off and he is thrown into the abyss. They could do that, and it'd be awesome to control vampiric Raziel. I love him as a wraith the most, but I'm just saying.

The one thing that bothers me is that SR 2 is more story lined game and its linear,but other than that,epic story,gameplay,action and most of all that this series had provided me is: best gaming experience in my life,there is no better advanture/action game in the world than this...i wish there is 1 more sequel and im so sad that Tony Jay had passed away...he was a legend.RIP

Guys i also wish there would be another game after Defiance but they wont be making a new one anymore. Why? Because Square enix has taken over Eidos shortly after the maker of the games announced a possible new title somewhere in 2008... it was in some interview of a game magazine, im not saying names cuz i dont remember, and got the info from a video here on yt. :)

Legacy of Kain is fucking awesome. When I first saw "Soul Reaver", as a trailer in Gex 3, it had turned me away from the game. I was little, and seeing the gore scared the hell out of me.
Wish I had not been so scared when I was little, because then I would've discovered this great series much earlier.

Well I was talking with a friend and we think Jason Isaac's is a contender for Kain (certainly with his Malfoy Wig on) plus he does give good anti-hero/villain and he has a good voice so he's a possible, hopefully if there is a script it'll be fan written because after Twishite we need a good vampire film and LoK suits the role fine.

DMC is more action. LOK is more like story. But LOK's story is super uber twisted, since it was supposed to END on Soul Reaver ONE. So uhm, yeah both games are nice.
A good movie (who has seen a good movie about a videogame? I didn't) would be wonderful, if they used similar soundtrack like this one, instead of just shoving it with death metal (which wouldn't be bad, but IMO would take off it's originality).
Am I thinking too high?
