@BoxerPupp: Yeah, I've heard that explanation for pirates and their eye patches. I'm just wondering if this guy lost his eye to disease or a bar fight maybe?
I'm 55 and I love this band my whole live, looking back at all the bands..this band is #1 in my heart..woohoo making it natural..not. LOL I'm still a Hippy love my homemade bread..barter..money sucks..wake and bake..If your happy and you know it share your meds...walk right in sit right dawn..LOL <3
i love Dr Hook and i remember alot about the 70's.that was a great decade and it seems like life was easier but hey what do i know I was little in the 1970's
Lovin me some Dr. Hook. Very classic and my favorite of all time, Beatles would come second for me but they will always be first. I couldn't believe someone hadn't heard of Dr. Hook but its true, so sad.
That is NOT Rik playing the harmonica. Rik is playing the guitar. I think the name of the guy playing the harmonica is Bob Willard Henke -- or something like that. He is also still living and still performing. He plays some GREAT solos in many of Dr. Hooks more popular songs.
I always remembered hearing this at just 5 years old in 1977- this must've been actually the first song I ever remember hearing- even at 5 I thought this song sounded great. Funny thing is just 6 months ago in 2010 I was back in that neighbourhood for the first time in 33 years and i went by to see if the old house was still there- it was - and as i sat in the car remembering sittin in my dad's 76 ford in the driveway & hearing it, it came on the radio again right then! MASSIVE flashback! :)
dennis is amazing! saw him in live crosby last year. really nice guy, had pics taken and signed stuff - had all the time in the world for everyone! thanks dennis!!!
