Another thing that puts me over the edge you are completely cutting out the whole Greek contribution to the mix. Josephus was written in Greek not Latin and Rome assimilated Greek philosophy, religion especially the mystery cults and societies, just like they did to Egyptian culture. Read Dialogue 6 (De Consolatione) 20:3 and you will figure it out. The first two "crosses" are simple impaling stakes proven by epigraphic evidence. IMO the third would be a purpose-built impalement and suspension frame.

Fantastic video and interesting! I have a degree in Classics, though my concentration was in Greek mythology. I am curious though about crucifixion not being a form of punishment.I do admit that my knowledge is limited on the subject but I was taught that it was used for those who committed crimes against the state. I always found it funny that thieves were supposedly crucified along side Jesus but in reality thieves were never punished in this manner. Your insight would be greatly appreciated.

Did some research and found that there WAS a one archaeological discovery of a crucified body dating back to the Roman Empire around the time of Jesus.
This was discovered in 1968, in Jerusalem.
The remains were found accidentally in an ossuary with the crucified man’s name on it, 'Yehohanan, the son of Hagakol'.
