I'm with all of you. My Christmas hasn't officially started unless this album is playing in the background. It holds such memories for me. I love Rogers voice. So soothing. Makes me feel 5 years old again.
This is the best Christmas album ever! I wore out the cassette and lp, now I have it on cd and in my ipod! (Did I just give away my age?) Darcy the Dragon for fun, the Governor's Dream for awe and mystery, and Home for Christmas to remember what it was like Christmas Eve at home on the farm. "I remember the moonlight on the meadow....."
Thanks for posting this song...i am in the military overseas and i remember hearing this album when i was a kid a long time ago. My mother used to play this cd on repeat. christmas in my house wasnt really christmas until this cd was played...just like most of you are saying. LOL thanks again.
I completely agree. I don't believe it is Christmas time until I hear this song and Governor's Dream. I never have been a huge fan of his other work, but it is not Christmas until I hear him!
WOW! Same goes for me! Thanks! I thought I was the only one(other than my family)that didn't consider it Christmas until Roger Whitaker's album was playing! My dad has been playing this album my whole life! I have passed this tradition down to my children. In fact, we misplaced the CD I bought a few years ago and my 15yr old nearly had a heart attack! My dad passed away this March, Listening to Roger will be even more special this Christmas, and bitter sweet. Thanks again! Merry Christmas!
I completely agree with you FurrySaint. Thank you for having this up! I always play this classic Christmas album every year. Darcy The Dragon is one of my personal faves along with Mighty Like A Rose, The Governor's Dream and Home For Christmas. Nothing says Christmas like Roger Whittaker. Do you by any chance have any songs from the Mirrors of My Mind album? That is my favorite album of his. It has Goodnight Ruby and Please Come to Boston on it, Wishes, Family. A lot of great songs.
