Wow you guys are BRUTAL. It was a decent cover man. You're thinking WAY too much. the fill @ 2:24 proved it. You got into it but couldn't get out. the td-9k sounds better out of the box but the DTXpress IV Special has more features, is more expandable, and is alot more bang for your buck. A little tweaking and changes and you can have those Yamaha's sounding just as good if not better than the Rolands. I'd go for the Yamaha's.

You can change the settings to sounds an acoustic cannot make, like a techno sound. I have both an acoustic drum set as well as a electric drum set. Just to tell you electric drum sets are completly different from rock band drum sets, as they do not make any sound but tapping sounds.

takes the same skill to play a electronic drum kit to a acoustic kit also i work in a studio and most drummers use a electronic kit in some songs.

Because when you buy a real drum kit, you are stuck with the sound quality it has. Sure, you can tune it, but not beyond its real sound capabilities. When you buy an electronic drum set (mine is a DTXpress IV SP V2), you get almost infinite ways to tweak the settings and get a LOT of sounds, not only drum sounds. Also, it´s way easier to record and practice on them without bothering people around you. On the other hand, I do agree that real drum sets look real cool, but that´s all about them.

Funny enough he sounds a lot better than most of the guys playing on acoustic sets on here. BTW electronic drums are as viable as electronic keyboards or guitars. Watch a recent video of a Neil Peart solo and you'll see him using Roland electronic drums in concert. He's the drummer for RUSH btw and is highly regarded as one of the best drummers in the world.
