The announcers didn't have much faith in Arthur's ability to fight his way out of the third round. One of them was even calling on the ref to stop it, which is idiotic. He was in great physical condition and showed some mettle to come back like he did.

That 3rd round destoryed the FULL potential of Alex Arthur. He could have been brilliant. He was good, but could have been bigger. Was never the same after this

@oasis4ever92 It's impossible to say that the physical damage Arthur suffered in this loss prevented him from reaching his full potential. What's more likely is this knockout loss put a massive dent in his confidence and he didn't recover from it. He's a young man and young men with strong constitutions come back from losses like this...perhaps not Arthur though.

am a big alex arthur fan but i love this fight alexs defence was no exsistant bt was taking it well and if he had just boxed like roubd 2 he could have had him bt the fight got to him and he wasnt thinking clearly and fair play to gomez he really wanted it and i would have loved to c a rematch

Just goes to show how good a pressure fighter Gomez could e when he was "on". Arthur though ? Stiff as a board after getting rocked in the 1st round. Look how stiff his legs are from the 1st round on.A blessing in disguise that Guzman moved up in weight.Even moreso given the result against Cook this past weekend.
