Have you tried Battlestation-sniping Gunships? Just lock on and wait for the machine to automatically turn to face the Gunship. When you fire, it should get popped right out of the air. Really handy when the AA units can only handle one at a time.
Assuming the Master Knight is that Bazooka vet you used the whole time, he only barely lived at the end. You might want to ship the poor guy a medkit, if you know him.
