This song is my childhood... If I heard this out the window in Brooklyn down... man you'd never think a kid could run that fast down 5 flights of stairs...
This was my favorite tune growing up in Queens..I remember chasing down the ice cream truck down a block when I was about 8..Now, the new ice cream truck in my area is so annoying and I swear that he looks like the villain from Lazy Town!
@JustinCirillo89 Probably people that don't like the quality of the vid. To those 2: my subject was the music, not of the truck. Plus it was a digi cam, not a camcorder. of course the vid quality won't be great.
I was 8 yers old in 1970 and I could hear that from the 21st floor of the PJ's in Chelsea, NYC - Nothing better than a vanilla swirl with colored sprinkles - thanks for the memories

best time to hear it when its summer time, sitting on the stoop with your boys, trading pokemon cards (1999) and $1.25 in your pocket. oh man, i love the 90's
@HDangerism LMFAO! So true :) Well I've been immune for years now. I haven't had an ice cream from that truck in like 10 years now. i don't even remember the last time I had one.
I grew up in Detroit from 1954-1975. We had a Mr Softee in the 60s. I forget how much it was back then. I think three size cones of vanilla or chocolat or chocolate swirl for .05, .10 and .15 cents? They had malts, shakes, sundaes and banana splits too! So that tune used to be exciting! I moved to Nebraska and haven't seen a Mr Softee since.
This tune brings back so many memories of my chilhood. I remember me and my fam from 143rd and HAMILTON HARLEM!! we used to hear MR. SOFTEE coming from a mile away and all of us formed a line with our dollars out ordering shit for days! Then we used to go to the porch and the rest was HISTORY!! Oh how I MISS growing up in the 90's! These are the days I sit and wish I was a kid again!!
@ryan212143 I was just lucky to have the ice cream man I wish I grew up with this in the 80's/90's then again Mister Softee ain't interested in cow patches and hills where I lived MA/TN. after seeing all these vids I might consider trying to bring some my way
i remember a few years ago i was practising for baseball with my team when a mr.softee truck stopped for like 10 minutes behing us and played that jingle, my dad was like shut the fuck p, and i just started busting out laughing!
Just heard this on WIP radio,in Philly. It's the new theme song of the Philadelphia Eagles defense.
