I like the Super Mario 14, there is a glitch in wich you can see the kid's head while pressing down the wand but I think the game looks fairly decent and acording to a friend that had it, the controls are really easy to handle.

Most of these games were complete utter bull crap especially that adventure island rip-off, it was almost the exact game as adventure island, they just slapped marios face there. And the most mediocre on of the bunch was probably mario 14, if they just wouldn't have used mario as the main character, tweaked the game play a little bit , made better graphics and put some more effort in it, it could have become a average nes game

The Star Wars game is a legitimate game. It was created by Namcot (now just Namco) in 1987 (for I'm assuming the 10th aniversary of Star Wars). Namcot did a far better job on it than Japan Victor (JVC) did, eventhough it doesn't follow the movie.

Yeah, technically, they are. A lot of pirates use computer programs, along with old ROMs out of some of those old cartridges, to create some more modern versions of old games. The Harry Potter one is a good example of that, as well as many of the Pokemon hacks that have been floating around.

The game flicker is from having more than 4 tiles on the same row. The NES can't address them all at the same time so it drops some tiles each frame, so it looks like flickering sprites.
