  • Alles Kovelenzer Jungs

  • Hummel's gonna hum!!

  • one of the best weapons of ww2

  • gehen saugehn eine katza

  • What a beauty

  • For anyone who's wondering, the half-track at the end of the video is a Sd.Kfz. 7.

  • Does it shoots?

  • nice paintjob :) it looks kinda nice with that on. i wonder what the tiger would look like with that camo scheme.

  • Open roof... there's your problem!

  • @SSUstufRudel This is not a tank or tank hunter. This is artillery on tank driving system and artillery is firing long distances. So normally there should be no problem about the open roof.

  • Towards the end of the war, Germany was running short of everything, paint included. When they couldn't manufacture enough pigment bases to sustain the standard palette of 'Dunkelgelb, Dunkelgrun and Rotte Braun' (Dark yellow, Dark green and Red Brown) panzer colors, an order was issued between roughly October 1944 and January 1945 that all new-build tanks were to instead leave between 1/4 and 1/3 of the hull in RAL 8012, an unnamed red oxide primer.

  • There is a lot of debate over the wordage used: 'sparingly' (thin) vs. 'sparsely' (intermittent coverage) and it was clearly a lousy idea so the order was rescinded and a new two-color scheme of green and yellow standardized in March 1945, when the situation in terms of paint stocks was even worse.

  • Moreover, as this was a midwar (ca. 1942-43) assault gun, the choice becomes even more questionable since tanks at that time were issued in overall Dunkelgelb and camouflaged in the field to local conditions by the panzertruppen themselves. And you can sure as heck bet -they- wouldn't have chosen this. Not at a time when there was a relative surplus of paint.

  • Love the way the German tanks had that hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sound from the motor.

    Their equipment rocked.

  • Was this thank used for made some war films?

  • @piero27761

no, This is is the Real thing, build during the war.

  • Horrible paint job. What did they base this on? Ive never seen a color scheme like this. Nice vehicle ruined by shitty paint. Were they on drugs?

  • Awesome! Was this display part of an annual event? If so, please provide the name of it.

  • Magnifique, very nice panzer ^^

  • die ammis hatten angst vorm IVer weil er mit panzerschürzen vom weiten wie en tiger aussah also ist das gar nich so peinlich

  • very good

  • @ssglen123 sehr gut

  • it's gun strongly resembles a flak 88 AA gun

  • The same tank was actually equipped with a PAK 43 gun, 88mm, and called "Nashorn". :)

  • love the nashorn and the hummel

  • @vonKietz There's hardly even a difference between the two (:

  • Wunderbar

  • the engine sounds like modern equipment

  • Yah, sounded pretty silent. Did the Hummel use a disel engine instead of a gasoline type?

  • No, all German tanks in WW2 used a gasoline engine.

    The Soviets preferred the Diesel.

  • The Germans shld have used diesel for their tanks, It could have resolved a lot of issues with the Tiger tanks not having enough mileage. How could they miss a observation as simple as that back then?

  • PzIII engine sounds just like that.

  • woher habt ihr die? Ich habe mir selbst scho neinige tausende euro für meinen eigenen panzer gespart

  • Das ist in Koblenz

  • beautiful Famo Sd.kfz9. at the end.

  • what is better wespe or hummel?

  • hummel :)

  • hummel wasnt better just a heavier caliber. both able to keep in touch with the tank battailons. tank artilery

  • agreed

  • don´t agree with you, i kinda like this camo scheme, and at least that camo looks better than the ones at Aberdeen and Kubinka

  • yerr i love that camo aswell (looks like a north african scheme but it might also be eastern front. 5/5 :)

  • or germany 45 lol

  • Its great to see one running, but like everybody else says, re-paint that thing!

  • thats a great and very rare piece!, horrible camo scheme, however great to see one of my favorite pieces!

  • is it genuine hummel on genuine pz4 undercarriage?

  • that has got to be the stupidest camo paint job i have ever seen

  • I've never seen in books a camuflage like that, its maybe a last stand april 45 camuflage?
