mine was not staying flat from row 4 and at row 5 it just didnt look right. i started all over again. i think i didnt finish the rows properly which is the most trickiest.
i love how in the description it says she's a "crochet expert", yet she screwed up for the fifth row on a hat that she has made 3467899760743345678 times i'm sure.
I just wanted to say how great this how to was! The girl speaks so clearly, goes slow, explains everything so perfectly, and you can actually see each stitch she makes! It took me 3 days to make a couple rows with another video, and it only took me one try to start this hat.
Seems no matter what I do its turning out frilly!!?? LOL!And why is it so hard for me to see the beginning and end? On her's it seems obvious, I can't seem to tell where the end is half the time...hrm...maybe I put in an extra row?? Anyone??? Guess I'll undo it again ( : and try the 11112 for row six. Any other suggestions?
The first time I tried to make a hat with these videos I found myself getting a circle that kept bunching up and staying flat like the one she was making. Then I realized that each row has TWO videos. Starting and Finishing. Boy did that make a difference.
The second time I tried making the hat for row five I started off with 1,2,1 and then I had to change it to 1,1,2..it still wasn't flat. It started to buckle either way. So what I did was 1,1,1,2 for row five and 1,1,1,1,2 for row six.
in row 5 what is the correct stictch? 1,2,1 or 1,1,2? You said two different things, but with both my project is starting to buckle and neither stitch gives a flat surface like yours or maybe I'm confused.
Thats were Im lost too!! I dont know. But Im thinking it might be 1-1-2 cuz she said in "Row 5" vid. to do 1-2-1-2 But then here she said that there was trouble so they had to do 1-1-2. So, Im guess she went back and toke out 1-2-1-2 and then did 1-1-2.
YEAH BUT SHE also SAID that at the end she was going to CHECK IT TO SEE IF IT WORKED! And there is a sec. vid. to ROW 5. That one is were she tells yall that 1-2-1-2 didnt work and that she had to change it to 1-1-2
third trail is a charm. so far looking good.

A little more emphatic than I'd put it, but he's right. For row five she did say "we're gonna keep with our pattern of 1-2-1-2"...
