The only reason phepls has 8 gold medals is bcs he was using a semi synthetic swimm suit.Nobody told him anything when he won those medals BUT when an unknown guy wins Phelps all hell breaks loose.Phelps is not wearing the 100% synthetic suit bcs i's not from his company.The americans protested and the new suits are abandoned but if the patents were US it would have been diffrent....

No... I'm pretty sure he won those medals because he was an amazing swimmer.... if you had done your research others were wearing the semi synthetic material as well.

@georgef85 So is that why 2 years later hes number 1 once again? It had nothing to do with the suits. Phelps was out of the pool on a ban for 3 months. You expect him to train for not even a week and come in and beat the worlds fastest 100 freestyler of that time? That cant happen, its impossible.

Not true. Phelps said he likes the LZR better because of it's compression. Even if he did switch suits he would have still lost. Beirdermann beat him. It's the swimmer. Not the suit.

@ps2monster u can't say that cause the suit that beirderman had keeps u on top of the water even when u start to become tired so u never drop where as phelps didn't have that so if they wore the same suit which they will soon, u will see who really does have the best 200fc.

@andresrojas22 that is because a straight arm recovery is extremely hard to maintain since it uses different muscles, as the bent arm recovery uses a different muscles. Yes a Straight arm is great for sprints, but doing a straight arm for a full 100 is quite tough to maintain.
