I have been dying to see the songs from her original album on youtube. I had the original album, and played the life out of it way back when. I saw Bonnie Raitt at the Philadelphia Academy of Music about the time that this was recorded. She was opening for Tom Rush, and gave one of the most electrifying performances I've ever seen. Poor Tom Rush couldn't compare.
This early stuff is some of the best in her catalog. I love that whole first album. Always have! And as much as I love Robert Johnson, this has way more boogie and blues soul. Her first 3 or 4 albums are still so amazing to me.
Thanks for the string of Bonnie Raitt songs. I heard her in Mpls in the 70's quite a bit at local bars-with Willie and the Bees. Can't remember the bar- they always had peanuts-on Franklin and Cedar I think.
This does showcase her guitar playing. This is very good.
