No merging of your facebook place page with your facebook page anymore.

@cpaneltv That's right. Facebook is now merging Places Pages and Fan Pages themselves.

what happens to the name which one does it keep?

@hllb I assume the name of the page remains the same because if it were otherwise it would cause too many problems for people. Unfortunately, my merge has yet to go through, so I'm still waiting on Facebook. :-(

@Jeffzpimp Good question. I don't know if you can. I think Facebook is in the process of merging Place Pages and Fan Pages on their own, so this may eventually be moot.
