  • Never been to Georgia, but I sure do love this song.

  • Freshman at Virgina Intermont College when this song came out. In the spring of 1970, we'd be out on the roof of the Student Union, in our Bikini's, glistening with baby oil, trying to get a tan. I specifically recall that this song was on...To think, my biggest heart ache back in those days was not having the boy I loved...HA!!!

Anyway, I've had a lot of good in my life too, so no complaints. Love this song more now than ever.

  • I wonder who recorded this first Brook Benton or David Ruffin?

  • Remember my dad would begin singing this and of course the rest of the family would join in. Thankfully, Brook Benton never heard us butcher his song. We each had our own interpretation.

  • Tonight, it's going to be a "Rainy Night In Georgia". What other song would be more appropriate, I ask? NONE!! Ain't nothin' better than a classic from Brook Benton...

  • This song was written by Tony Joe White. The Jazz Crusaders have a great version of this tune.

  • Beautiful song and makes me think of the blaxploitation movie House On Skull Mountain (1974).

  • My least favorite era in music is circa 1970. I prefer fast songs to slow ones. And rarely do I pay attention to lyrics. But this one has given me chills for 42 years - the instrumental, the voice, and the words. The perfect storm.

  • Fantastic, as it always has been.
