  • @PickYourVenom not even...

  • 2:10 - 2:21 LOOL!

  • oh logan, such an ati/amd fanboy.

  • Bam Margera....tell me no

  • my god... LOGAN... that was 2007... a 2900 XT LOOOOL---- they used a huge box for a small graphic card... i had a 4870 and now i have a gtx 460... but i will laugh at my graphics card in 5 years... of corse.. BY THE WAY ::: WHERE IS LOGAN:.. LOL

  • @taste4love He's in New York.

  • Series don't really matter sometimes, yet better technology from newer series (HD 3000, 4000, 5000) change just some processing. The nanotechnology changes too, but as if your using them for games, even this is good for games, so fools just get fooled by number and buy newer ones just because they appeared

  • @Tudorgeable : Agreed! I bought an older-high end laptop instead of a new lower end one. It is definitely worth looking at actual performance numbers instead of strictly the series.

  • this was the 5890 of 2007

  • Comment removed

  • lol dumbass the gpu is made by ati radeon not msi, your name and your writing shows your lack of knowledge

  • your knowledge lacks too

its made by AMD/ATI. its from the product range Radeon

  • is this better than 4850

  • nah 4850 kills this

  • wow that looks alot like the 4870

  • Anyone What type of mother board should I get

  • Comment removed

  • I would recommend the p35 motherboard if you would prefer CROSSFIRE.

  • get a new X58 PCIe3.0 Mobo when they come out and get a core i9 :D

  • um can you have a newer graphics card and have a lower version of DirectX?

  • fuck

  • stas mal amigo, la 4870 es mas rapida q una 3870x2 por un buen margen, la 2900 es igual a una 3870 si no esq mas lenta. Una 4870 le gana a 2 2900xt en crossfire.

  • Logan sad: "Silence!!!"

Or he will kill you, like Ahmed. =)))

  • Nice! "NVIDIA-guys" are screwed! AMD "killed" them!

  • i have no idea wat r dey talkin bout in the comments?????

  • propably comparing different cards, my opinion if you want cost effective card from Ati Radeon try the HD3000- or HD4000-Series

  • MSI Nice Small Box as usual

  • LOL :))))))))

  • 3850 512 or 2900 pro 512 ddr3 512 bit?

  • 2900

  • just one question...is hd 2900 xt better that hd 3870x2 ???

  • no, it isnt

  • you are kidding write? or are you so stupid?

  • where do nvidia cards get there power from?? if this has 320 stream procs u wud think it would b faster thn a card with 112 or 128 stream procs???

  • new 9 series inc for nvidia. also ultra smokes every card atm.

  • hmm what about the 3870X2 I do believe that it pwns the ultra for about 250$ less to boot.

    nub

  • np. my cousin is working for pc's and he clearly says that ULTRA is better :)

  • this guy said "running 8800 in crossfire" at 1:23...lol this guy is funny.

  • he said that because he cant stop talking about crossfire...i bet he got ati cards in his pc

  • yeah exepct HD3870 X2 which is a few percent better. btw ur the noob i am getting HD3870X2 in 5 days so STFU.

  • hahaha i just got mine today :):):) visiontek 3870X2

  • my systemm owns Nvidia:

Intel Core 2 Quad q6700 Oc 3.46 ghz

    Dual ATI HD2900XT 1gb Gddr4 memory for 2gb of gddr4 in my crossfire setup(0wn4ge)

    Three Raptor-X 150gb 10,000 RPM's

    4GB Corsair Dominator memory

3dMark06 score 22,576!! eat that Nvidia Ultra Fans

  • rofl ULTRA>2900XT no chance at all. my cousin has 2x8800ULTRA it will own ur 2900XT

  • good thing at 2:14 he even said its not quite as better as the ULTRA watch it b4 u post

  • lol @ the omglucky dumb ass talkin about the best nvidia vs the 3rd best ati.... get a grip man...go tell nvidia u wanna give them BJz i bet they hiring people like you...

  • An ultra can eat this thing alive in any game.

  • So? a 3870X2 eats the Ultra, whats the point?

  • And A 9800GX2 eats the 3870x2 chews it and spitin it!!!

  • true but with the price difference it better :P.

  • lolz ultra is an last year curently considered as a crap price to performances ratio card if i am going hardcore ima get the 9800GX2 or the GTX which is getting quit good results for its price compared to the 3870x2 and the 9800GX2

I think my next card will probably be the 9800GTX

  • The 3870x2 beats the ultra by just a little bit, and they needed to cram two gpus on to one board to get to that power.

  • I just dont understand the release of gtx280, was it to show off that the card works with ageia physx?

  • Cuda indeed, Its a simple faqt of a driver update.

Than the card will do the physX.

This count for all Nvidia card from the

    8-series and up.

Thing is, if it proves to be something of value ATI can simply addopt it as well.

  • LOL you need two ultra's to beat one 2900xt?

  • I think AMD is focusing a lot on graphics but they are falling behind because Intel is going to the 45nm shrink in no time.

  • i am not really surprised. Intel has 7 times more employee than AMD, and Intel also have 5 times more money. Intel sometime copy off of the direct artintect. If AMD survives for the next 10 years, then amd will survive because of the moore's laws. Did you notic that Intel is slowing due to the Moores' law

  • I have noticed this. Also you have to notice that AMD with the ATi cards are absolutely owning the nVidia cards. For example the ATi Radeon 2900XT has 1GB of GDDR4 Ram and is running at 743Mhz and can be overclocked to 825Mhz. AMD needs to focus more on the CPUs.

  • im really excited about ati making a comeback i may go back to all amd again on my next rig if phenom fx-82 dual quad core is what they say it is im buying i doubt this guy is an ati fan boy tiger direct sells 8800s for 300$ more.the Diamond Radeon HD2900XT 780Mhz Core 1GB 2100Mhz can hang with a gtx

  • Lies all lies!! haha =)

  • the best face.duh.

  • Yes its better than 8800GTS but compere to 8800GTX and Ultra this card is much weaker...i now that someone tell that is not true but it is true!Hungy for power, loud like hell, bugs with drivers is not something that i want(i like ATI more than nVIDIA btw) WAIT FOR RV670!!!xD

  • GTX

  • i hate the US they get everything before the UK :(

  • Hm i just dont know what is better :S

  • did the guy said GTX or GTS?

  • He switched between them a bit while talking. It's confusing. :P

  • Both.

  • actually it is better than the 8800 ultra

  • Not teh Ultra or GTX. but the 8800 GTS yes the 2900 is better.

  • this is the best choice for its price point but it's still behind the 8800gtx in terms of performance

  • the show this card 47.5 gbs. when really it's 106 gbs

  • why is the 2900xt performing worser in dx10 benchmarks then a 8800gts? :(

  • cuz gts sucks balls the 2900 is wayyy faster in fact it is better than the ultra

  • I think everyone hates ATI because they released the HD 2900 XT six months later than the 8800 GTS and the 8800 GTX.

  • who buys graphics card to decode HD videos?

but the Black Box.. thats kinda getting me =P

  • Guys sorry for being an asshole but I just hate people who trash talk the 2900XT :( I don't get why everyone hates ATI so much.

  • You suck balls.

  • You suck MONKEY BALLS

  • That's because the ATI uses shader AA resolve which is shader based and will use it in future games.

  • very true. looking at the benchmarks it only beats the gts when there is no AA

  • LOL, notice how he just brushes over the whole AA thing, oh yeah, ati sucks at AA. sure AA doesn't matter if your playing at 2560x1680, but we don't all have $2000 monitors. also, 8800gtx definitely always beats this card in benchmarks, and comsumes less power to the tune of about 100W.

  • Who cares about the AA problem. This card will use a shader based type of AA which it's optimised for for future games. The 8800GTX beats it because it's priced $150 more. So go blow that out your ass. And BTW, 100W is a complete exaggeration. i2 dot neoseeker dot com/a/ati_2900xt/power%20consumpt.png More like 30. pfff.

  • It does beat the 8800GTS 640mb by alot and almost the GTX

  • I am soo nobi hehehe

  • Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss i would buy 8800 gts abd tnx god i will now buy this videocar yesssssssssssss ati rockss hahahahahahah rolf rolf rolf rofl it is better then 8800 GTX 768 MB hahahahahahahaahahahhahahah muahhahahahaha heheheheeh rolfi rolfi ogm will go mad hahahaha oh shit tnx tiger uuuu rocks uahahahahahhaha

  • hm no the most gamers here stick with 8800 gts or gtx, because ITS BETTER !!!

  • Actually it's not.

You fucking fanboys I just want to rip your fucking head off. SHUT THE FUCK UP about the fucking 8800. It's the most over hyped over rated piece of black shit I've ever seen. The 2900XT performs between the GTS and the GTX and is priced between. Gamers stick with the 8800 because of the faggot fanboys including you who have no idea what they are talking about. If there were not morons in the world, a lot more people would've bought the 2900XT.

  • Hey ATIman, I didn't know nVidia made you so upset!

I'm still deciding what new card to get, but this one consumes too much power.

    On newegg now: ATI 2900xt = $449, MSI 8800gtx OC'ed w/ free game = $479

I'd gladly pay an extra $30 for a more efficient and powerful card that will simply outperform anything ati has out now (even with the recent drivers). Anyone who says that a gtx isn't worth $500 but this card is worth $400 is an idiot.

Now calm down before you have a stroke

  • Fanboys make me upset. You think it consumes too much power go kill youself. 50 watts don't mean shit. I just looked at the 2900XT shown it looks like you've chosen the most expensive 2900XT and cheapest 8800GTX. Haha that's a good one. I can do it too! The 2900XT is about $380 and the GTX is about $500, that MSI had a rebate, so stfu. Since that's the case, I wouldn't pay $100 more for a card that's not that much more powerful (It isn't if you look at non-biased reviews). Fuck effiency.

  • If you had a better job, you'd probably have the best card. I can only guess that your so angry because you bought the 2900xt, and you have to defend your purchase to make yourself look good, but these long paragraphs are making me think that secretly you are unhappy with your choice.

Otherwise you just wouldn't care, and you wouldn't be so rude.

  • I didn't buy the 2900xt. I am not defending anything. If anything, I am defending ATI trash talkers. I can be rude if I want.

  • w/e

I'm sure it's a great card either way

    (cough... for XP anyway)

  • Fuck mac

  • should i buy this 2900xt?

  • Should i buy a 2900xt?

  • yes get 2

  • according to benchmarks (with new drivers)the hd2900xt clearly performs better than the gts 640, and almost as good as the 8800gtx. since the hd2900xt costs as much/less than a gts 640 its the better card.

  • Thats a real good PR man, AMD can really use such ppl in their marketing department. :P HD2900XT rocks, i have one myself.

  • Me too! I don't have the rest of the rig though, but I'll get it tomorrow. And I was lucky enough to get one with three heatpipes instead of two :D

  • yeah there's no tellin what all kinds of shit Trump has around his house, just cus he can.

    anywho...

  • I'm gonna rebuild my rig for this card - seriously, the card has superb potential, it already runs significantly faster than the 8800GTS in many tests (without AA) while it is also cheaper and the Crossfire support is just fantastic. A crossfire setup, a set of OCZ ATi Crossfore E-RAMs and a high-end AMD processor along with some red LED-fans and my world is a better place.

  • The current driver, 7.6, is pretty stable and will be updated more frequently than the nVidia equalents. So spare your money and get more performance for the buck and get this card over the 8800GTS. Your bad experience with ATi could be that you've been picking low-end cards, the 9500 is budget.

  • you dont need amd chipset to run this card.

  • You know what, I'll just send you a message, instead of posting :-)

  • Good choice. There shouldn't be any problem with the mobo as far as I can see. I'll get the Asus p5w dh deluxe, as it has a crossfire compatible chipset, and a ton of extras. Not that I plan to use Crossfire, but I'll keep that option open just in case.

  • No, he meant the motherboard chipset, which could be from Nvidia (nforce) or Intel (like the X975 etc.) However, they don't make a difference performance wise, the only difference for graphics is the fact that there are SLI compatible chipsets from Nvidia, and Crossfire compatible chipsets from Intel&AMD. The unstable benchmark results are caused by still immature drivers that don't work well with all games (yet). I'd personally go with the 2900.

  • well there both good so just go with what chipset u have if u have a nvidia one go with the GTS if u have a Intel/AMD/ATI Chipset get the 2900XT imo

  • 2900xt is faster than the 8800gtx in DirectX 10 games( Call of Juarez )

  • EH! what are you talking about?? the 2900XT is an AMAZING video card it's trurly fast.. and in the benchmarks it's making really great scores but stop it right there it's faster than the 8800GTX?? the GTX and Ultra waaaay in a diffrent league.. sure Nvidia till now don't have a decent driver.. but when they will have they will smoke The 2900xt and now they are kiling the 2000series without a good driver! and don't forgot the compatiblity of Nvidia!

  • I have the HIS version of this card, and it beats the 8800 Ultra in alot of games sinse the 7.6 version of the drivers. I't easily overclockable to GDDR4 memory clock, people have been getting over 1000mhz (2000mhz effective) I got 980mhz without a hassle. This card is great and I highly recommend it.

  • should i get a 8800gts 320mb or one of these? which one's cheaper?

  • gts is cheaper by more than $100, but these new 2900 cards are fast though get really hot apparently

  • this card is generally slightly faster than a gts 640, and costs about as much, but if u r low on money the 320 mb gts gives a better bang for the buck.

  • this card performs weird, but when the drivers are fixed it will perform somewhere between a 8800gts 40 and a gtx in most games. the card does have a bottleneck which hinders it from performing at its best, which is the texture units, the card only sports 16 of them. but then again, the card features a sound card!

  • i think they travel both ways, so they will have the same performance if you have an nvidia card with 32 of them. nvidia's dont travell both ways, therefore they must have twice as much.

  • At least it has decodation *rolls eyes*

  • I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 8800 ultra is far more powerful for this toy! :D

  • And costs about $1000.

  • AVIVO yes. UVD no. There is no hardware acceleration in decoding HD video present in R600. AMD had confirmed this confusion.

  • How long is this thing?

  • The Donald Trump comment, haha

  • Oh nuts, better then GTX?!

  • 5 stars

  • Releasing drivers to make it better than the 8800. Very nice. Almost as nice as the one line of coding added to OpenGL that doubles the FPS in games.

  • first coment LOL
