@tattaslayer well this anime came out in the late 70s or early 80s so compared to today's computer enhanced graphics anime of course it will seem a bit dated. some of the best animes of all time have simple drawings. do you know osamu tezuka? the man who was dubbed the godfather of manga/anime ? like i said because you belong to the more marketable generation of anime you'd probably hate his stuff too. plus i don't like how you're prejudice against this series just cause you consider it old.

sasuke is a famous ficitional ninja that became a regular part of childhood story tales for japanese children . Sasuke was part of the 10 soldiers that followed under the leader Sanada (but besides saizou non of the rest were included in this series or anyother i think). Personally I prefer this to naruto :P.
