I like caterhams cause you can ride them pretty fast on roads as narrow as this one. wish i had a track like this near a place where i live. those K-series engines are crazy.

When I am old enough, I really want a Caterham. In particular the r500 superlight, which I think is the best one. Your video looks so exciting, and any caterham is such a pure driving experience. No aids whatsoever, that's how I drive (on my xbox, of course). Your driving is very impressive, smooth and controlled like a pro.
Ta mate. We try to keep the oversteer to a minimum because you're looking for tenths if not hundredths of a second in hill climbing so smoothness is everything. But it's nice to hang the back end out a little now and then :)
Hi Madnitro - thanks for asking about Joy. She's still in a wheel chair but is starting to put weight back on her legs and has started serious physio.
She's incredibly positive and will undoubtedly be back hill climbing early next year.
Glad to hear she is on the mend, Is she wanting towards driving a manual or going to drive an automatic Caterham/kit car?
Shes got some talent thats for sure!, send her my best wishes (I know i'm a random guy on the internet, but all the same its horrible to hear someone has been in an road accident)
I'll look forward to hearing her progress, is there a local site with perhaps more info?, cheers.
She'll be aiming for 100% ability to drive a manual and is getting there. The video above isn't Joy unfortunately, it's me. However she did beat me at one event this year!!

what engine has it got in it?
jandywa 2 years ago
As it says above, a Rover K Series 1800 like all the Caterhams built around that time. This one produces 230BHP at 7800rpm.

I really like the way you handle the slight oversteering, reminds me of rallying...

I might expect it can be faster sometimes to slightly oversteer. It's not that you're drifting, it's just nice how you keep the car in attack mode :)

It's a Rover 1800K Series, naturally aspirated producing 230 bhp. The car weighs about 495 Kg.
