So the problem becomes, with Baha'is, that they do NOT seek God. They seek worldly things; world changes, worldly experiences; worldly goals. The great religions such as Buddhism and Yoga would laugh at this as a substitute for religion. It is the opposite of the wise world-renouncing religions. (Yet B-u-L's writings are loaded admonitions to world-renunciation.) So Baha'is, who don't seek God themselves, want to take away the great religions that bid men to seek God and offer true paths to It.
I am happy to turn atheists to God.It's easy to do. The divine man, and the world contains many and more than Baha'is could conceive of, always turns men to God. And by whatever path they seek Him, it is good. This is precisely one of the messages in the mystical Sufi book "The Seven Valleys." (A "Baha'i" book.) In it the love-struck Majnun falls down from a wall while seeking "Layli." The point is made that "however men seek God, they'll find Him." Baha'is should read their own freaking books.
"So far you have achieved one convert from atheism and one new Baha'i believer."
In this world there's a religion for everyone. That is precisely one of my points. The world was supposed to be a spiritual school with many spiritual paths toward the Transcendental summit. Not "one." If somebody gets something of worth from the BF that is good. I know I did. But Baha'is want to replace and supplant all religions -- better ones -- with their inferior worldly thing while having no clue about them.
It's absurd for a "Baha'i" to preach about "discontent" or "content." Baha'is are the most discontent people I know in terms of religion. Their whole life revolves around fretting about the condition of the world, worrying about it, getting pressure from their corrupt "administration" to "teach, teach, teach" and "give more money to the fund." Every "Feast" letter is about world problems and how bad everything is.They feel desperate at their impotence to take over the world. Complete discontent.
"Are you telling me that you sit and practice this religion of yours, dedicated to "the Lord" to try and foster discontent and hatred?
U hatin'?
I have not spoken of my religious practices. The Baha'i Faith attacks religious knowledge, the peoples, and the White European race. My love of the peoples, and of their religions, is so great I will attack what attacks them. I attack their lies and their absurd Aqdas, moreover, from love of Truth. And I gave them 15 of the best years of my life.
Bhakti-yoga is what one directs to the Lord. There is no need or purpose in directing bhakti-yoga at Marxist tools who want deracination of the world and destruction of the unique nations. Bhakti-yoga is a practice used in pursuit of the Lord, not a practice used for being "nice" to religious liars.
@OneWorldBore You use bhakti-yoga to nourish hatred and ridicule of others? Are you telling me that you sit and practice this religion of yours, dedicated to "the Lord" to try and foster discontent and hatred? 'Hard core insider lingo'?? WT?
There is no need for a "universal language." A man can only speak with one person at a time, and you'll never converse with even 3 percent of the people in your own state, among your own people, let alone the whole world.
Leave the peoples alone. Leave the languages alone. Let the world stay mysterious and charming.
@OneWorldBore Have you ever travelled?Like to Israel or Hong Kong or Europe? And oddly enough, there seems to be a universal language developing anyway, maybe you could halt it.
It seems that in religion there are 2sets of Laws, Social and Spiritual. If you want social laws, the Aqdas is the book, however for spiritual laws, kindness, tolerance of others, integrity and truthfulness etc you need the other books, and there are many of them I have discovered, thanks to Mr oneworldbokkofflaws.
@waiotahi52 -- Actually, the Aqdas contains the significant spiritual laws because that's where it has it's commands to chant the Baha'i mantra. Chanting a mantra is a spiritual activity with a spiritual result. Perhaps 70 percent of the Aqdas is "spiritual" writing in the form of phantasmagorical and incomprehensible statements by the fellow an patently mystical nature or at least posing as such.
But we understand how the Baha'is find their Most Holy Book embarrassing. It's o.k.
@OneWorldBore I was going back over these sites, you have been at this for how long? Years? So much hatred of something for such a long time must have a detrimental effect on you, it has certainly not hurt the Faith.
May I suggest you concentrate more on your bhakti yoga and try and find peace within yourself rather than the hatred shown here.I am going to take my sails out of your wind now and concentrate on the writings. I will pray for you.
Baha'u'llah stalling for time when not sure what to say:
"It has been ordained for you that you make pure (lawful) your food and other things by paying the poor-rate. This is what He who sent down the verses commanded in his Inaccessible Parchment. We shall tell you in detail of the property on which the poor-rate is paid when God wills and desires. He willed to detail what He wishes by a knowledge which He has. He is the Wise and the Knower."
@demha75 Obviously you have not had more than a cursory glance at the Baha'i writings,If you have looked at all, or you would not make such a foolish statement. :-)
I actually went too deep into it and downloaded the Akdas book, as well as all the descriptions and the laws set up by the counsel.. I love to read about religions and faiths...I read the Bible and the Quran, as well as the books of Druz and Shia, this was the worst claim of prophecy and divine call I have ever read...the lousy Arabic language it was written in (with many "verses" imitating the Quran) shows how weak his claim was..he should have written it in Farsi...big mistake!!
@waiotahi52 -- Actually, the Aqdas is supposed to be, according to Baha'is, the entire set of laws to guide mankind for a thousand years. It is one of 3 topmost Baha'i books, and the very most important. But I can understand why Baha'is would want to minimize now the "Most Great Book." The marketing package called the Baha'i Faith is boring. But the Kitab-i-Aqdas, with its cool coffin rules and obgligation to wear sable and squirrel skin -- is at least interesting.
A universal language shall be adopted and taught in the schools and academies of the world. A committee appointed by the national bodies shall select a suitable language to be used as a means of international communication.
Every one will need but two languages, his national tongue and the universal language. All will acquire the international language. (Abdu'l-Baha, Divine Philosophy, p. 26)
@waiotahi52 -- Much better for mankind to keep it's languages. Each languages contains the spiritual point-of-view and particular insights of a particular people. It's a tragedy when any language dies out.
@OneWorldBore no one person can construct a Universal Language. It must be made by a Council representing all countries, and must contain words from different languages. It will be governed by the simplest rules, and there will be no exceptions; neither will there be gender, nor extra and silent letters. Everything indicated will have but one name. In the schools of each nation the mother tongue will be taught, as well as the revised Universal Language."

Baha'is are WAY too focused on the material world, showing off their buildings, etc. They were birthed in conflicts at their core. Every stage of involved conflicts, extending to murder. Presently there are about 10 sects of Baha'i, all at odds.

This is even with the most known group, the "Heterodox Baha'is, of Haifa, exercising draconian information control and suppression of the other groups.
I think Reform Baha'is are more in the spirit of the founders.
@MrAligauhar ;Baha'u'llah forbids violence and oppression of all kinds; be it by the State, economic system or belief systems that have become obsolete; The equality and oneness of the human race is a fact that needs to be traslated into a just and united world ; Baha'u'llah has promised the coming of a Great Peace on earth that we all long for ;please join us in this Cause'
@shrewdfox1 I want the book kitab ul aiqan and kitab e aqdas in arabic i have read ones in english but i need the original manuscript. How may i get it.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music I've heard all day, and I've spent the last hour or so listening to Orthodox liturgies so that's saying something :)
"The essence of belief in Divine Unity consisteth in regarding Him Who is the Manifestation of God and Him Who is the invisible, the inaccessable, the unknowable Essence as One and the same... How high the reward of him that hath not deprived himself of so great a bounty, nor failed to recognize the beauty of his Best-Beloved in this, His new attire." Baha'u'llah
Bahai faith is gentle, peaceful, non-fundamental, possibly something those seeking 'spitual" would be more interested in than "christianisty". I have never met an unpleasant,,unpeaceful Bahai person..."god" is with you all...
Quick question about the Baha'i faith(I'm not a Baha'i). I know that the international Baha'i headquarters are in Israel, so why are Israelis not allowed becoming Baha'is? This has always baffled me. :s
@Katluver1991 They are allowed to become Bahai's, but there is no local community there so it lacks administrative qualities. The same reason why Bahai's who are not serving at the world center are not allowed to live in Israel.
But being a Bahai simply means recognizing Baha'u'llah as the manifestation for this day and age. Everything else is a process of becoming a better person.
@Katluver1991 Nope. Its just that you cannot sign cannot be documented as a Bahai because there is no local assembly. Its the same reason why Bahai's do not teach the faith in Israel - there is no community.
@Katluver1991 - Actually, CyJoZa is partially correct, but there has been an agreement since the days of Baha'u'llah not to teach the faith in Israel. If a person in Israel has, independently, developed an interest in the faith, they can be referred to the offices of the World Center, but because we honor that agreement the only means that we may teach by there are through upholding a Baha'i standard in our practices: honesty, cleanliness, benevolence, purity, and being the source of unity.
@PeterJDeer My question is, what about Palestine? Can pioneers spread the Bahai Faith in the West Bank? If so, then I would deem it to be a highly political double standard
@grail68 The agreement predates the British mandate, as it was within the lifetime of Baha'u'llah. This would also mean it predates the separation of Palestine into two states, so logically I see no reason why it would not also apply in the occupied territories of Palestine. We're apparently not supposed to teach, but can refer interested parties to the offices at the world center if they wish to know more information.
@PeterJDeer That's very interesting, and yes of course how silly of me... it would have been the Ottoman Empire... well I'd certainly be interested in learning more about this agreement and the context in which it was made. Do you know of anywhere I might look that would be useful?
@grail68 - I'm afraid what I've said is pretty much all I know, but that much I've gotten from reputable sources (i.e. letters from the House of Justice on the subject). I'm quite interested in finding out more on the subject myself, so if you happen to come across more would you be so kind as to send me a message? Thank you in advance.
Baha'is believe in "progressive revelations"; each religion that comes confirms the spiritual verities of the previous religion and provides social teachings suitable for the age and cleaning up the road from dogmas, prejudices, and superstitions heaped upon the religions by their followers. Baha'u'llah also teaches us the importance of the sanctity of language and civilized discourse. Finally, He says if you accept tribulations in His path for the good of mankind join us; otherwise, go away...
Every one should read a few passages from Baha'u'llah's Writings and judge for themselves. He says, "No man shall attain the shores of the ocean of true understanding except he be detached from all that is in heaven and on earth... Sanctify your souls o ye people of the earth, that haply ye may attain the station that God hath destined for you..." From the Book of Certitude (1861 AD)
Although I'm not Bahai, I really like that religion. I think that religion is absolutely the religion of peace. Many positive values are taught in it, such as: peace, love, harmony, positive-thinking, loyality, gender equality, etc. Besides that, Bahaullah had no political agenda.
@Sarezh998 The Bahai Faith is working towards bringing unity in the world. Bahais believe that all religions are sacred and have come from God and in essence they all teach the same spiritual concepts of love, justice, tolerance and if we were to go back to these original message in each religion we would become more spiritual and live in a more harmonious world.
Look for bahai.org
@Sarezh998 bahai is an arabic words it means light the founder of this faith is Baha ullah and it means glory of god he is the second coming of christ. this faith arose in persia former name of iran in 1844.
@yhetcornejo - Actually Nur means light, Baha means 'glory' or 'splendor'. But Baha'u'llah was Mirza Husayn Ali Nuri (of Nur) so that's an easy mistake to make.
@Sarezh998 All "true" religion comes from the same One God, whether called Allah, Jehovah, the Great Spirit, etc. It is one unfolding book with many chapters. "The Prophets of God proclaim the same Faith." "This is the changeless Faith of God. Eternal in the past. Eternal in the future."
Baha'u'llah (Glory of God) is the recent "Manifestation" of God. Baha'is see Buddha, Moses, Christ, Muhammad, the Bab as Messengers of the same God at different times and places, but of one process of
@Sarezh998 "progressive revelation" according the capacity of humanity to receive it. Like teachers in the same school who adapt according the level of the student. A first grader isn't ready for calculus, so Abraham taught a simple truth of One God. Moses brought the ten commandments. Jesus, universal love, Muhammad created the nation of Islam, etc. Now is the fulfillment of the One Fold and One Shepherd, or the Sacred Hoop of All Nations. The jigsaw puzzle is all coming together...
@Sarezh998 The Baha'i faith was founded in 1844 in Iran. We believe that Baha'u'llah is the Messenger of God foretold in all the previous holy books. We believe he is the Lord of Hosts'' as referred to in the Torah, '' The second coming of christ'' the 5th Buddha as referred to in the tripitaka. We believe that all religions ( judaism, islam, christianity, buddhism, hinduism, zoroastrianism) are from One God and bear the same basic universal message. And Baha'u'llah has come with a new message.
what is mysterious about bahaism? its just another organised religion, that tries to differentiate itself from others by seeming to make itself compatible with other monotheistic religions even if those religions contradict each other or have no real common view, its a really silly and asinine concept, thats been done to death over the last 2000 years.
@fewoifhiu3hfklew i dont see the issue as well as you do. maybe you can explain? There are many common views. We as Christians and Bahai's and Jews and Muslim all revere the same God, the same Allah. We all wish for the peoples of the world to live in harmony with each other. We all wish well upon our neighbor. We all want peace. We all need each other.
I find it hard to believe in a God who would allow a soul to go to hell. Christians are forever teaching about hellfire. This is a mass paranoia and a great contradiction to what Jesus is teaching. There is too much division within the Christian faith. There should be more unity instead of conflict between who is right and who is wrong. The bahai's teach us unity and love for all mankind and all religions. Now that is love that all should strive for.
we bahai's believe in christ, we also believe in moses, we also believe in mohammed, but we believe in bahullah first, because he is the manifestation for our time.
This is my favourite piece of Bahai music! I absolutely love it!
I'm a Christian myself, but I believe all faiths come from God and that all shall be restored to him. I have great respect for the Bahai faith in particular....thank you so much!
TheMythicKhan, you are right, it is an amazingly beautiful tone! The "lyrlcs" is the words of a prayer giving praise to God Almighty, the same Creator of the universe Cristians believe in. The transliteration and the translation is this: 'Ya Baha-ul-Abha' meaning 'Oh, Glory of The Most Glorious'
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
If Bahaism is a Universal faith, then why can Jews convert ot Bahaism?
Why does Israel fund all Bahai propaganda?
Do you know the secret pact between Zionists and Bahais? Israel is using Bahaism to suit their politics, and in return Bhais have forbidden Jews from converting to Bahaism.
The Baha'i Faith is a universal religion. It is defined as the youngest independent world religion by the Encyclopedia Brittanica. Israel doesn't fund anything related to this Faith, except probably some road maintenance that happen to be near the Baha'i Holy Places. I personally know several persons who were formerly of the Jewish Faith but later became followers of Baha'u'llah, so they became Baha'is. The Universal Divine Faith is proclaimed by all Revelations from God, Islam included.
I have been to Israel and I know it is illegal to convert Israeli Jews to Bahaism, and apparently even Bahais have religiously banned conversion in Israel.
That makes me wonder the universality of this faith.
We are at present safe in the Holy Land precisely because we are insignificant demographically. So long as we pose no threat to anyone, we shall not be drawn into the region's conflicts. Like all peoples, though, we long for the day when one's religion will not determine one's security.
The universality of the Baha'i religion is reflected in the fact that it offers solution to the WHOLE mankind, whether one becomes a believer in the Baha'i Faith or not. You may continue your belief in Judaism if you choose so, or remain a Christian, Buddhist or one living without
But it's also a fact that the Baha'i communities worldwide respect the laws of the country where they live and are loyal to agreements with authorities. Therefore, because Judaism is the state religion in Israel, Bahai's do not spread their religion at all in Israel, even though their World Centre is located there.
@designbar1 i think this is in keeping with the respect of the country in which one resides. I think that Jews or Christians or anyone can convert to become a Baha'i but what I think this means is we should not have campaigns of conversion where the official religion is Judaism. This is my opinion and I think for the time being, it is the right thing to do to prevent more war. But in time the position may change. In time most of mankind may be Baha'i, until the successor of Baha'u'llah comes.
@Keallei I completely agree with you about "keeping with the respect of the country in which you reside"... then why don't Bahais respect their country of origin (Iran).
It becomes political when you keep shut on conversion issues in Israel but you rebel and protest on the same issues in Iran.
The Bahais residing in Iran do respect the laws of Iran. When their spiritual assemblies were banned, they stopped electing them yearly. When their Feasts and Holy Day commemorations were prohibited in rented halls they have also stopped having them. In almost every country Bahais are free to proclaim their core religious message openly, because it is granted in the laws of that country (in Iran even their basic human rights are denied of them), they don't proclaim it in Iran.
It is Iran who not only does not provide that religious freedom within their territory - in spite of the fact that they signed all UN covenants to do so - but even such simple civil rights are denied of Bahais like: pension, inheritance, higher education, etc. Plus they are openly harassed, imprisoned, persecuted, kidnapped, murdered by government agencies and fulminated and banned by priest (mullahs) from the pulpits of almost every mosque. So who is having a double standard?
@designbar1: There is a difference between protesting the Human Rights violations & disrespecting Iran. Bahais of Iran are denied social security, health care, higher education, jobs, execution of wills, so on & so forth. Do they have a right to speak up? Iran being the cradle of Bahai Faith, the place were more than 20,000 were killed for this belief, it is highly respected & counted as a spiritual grounds for Bahais worldwide. You are misinformed.
@designbar1: Bahai's dont teach their faith on Israel, because they believe Bahai faith is so attractive that as it is it leaves a lasting effect on people like yourself who've followed up to watch their prayers & write comments. Israel has enough problems, being a religious society with all the conflicts between various religions & ethnic groups. Since like the christians & the moslems, this religion also has NON PROFIT, sacred property in that country, it does not wish to add to the conflict
@designbar1: you don't know enough. I am from a jewish ancestry myself,Just so you know, part of becoming a Bahai was for my jewish ancestry to accept & acknowledge that Moses was not the only one. To become a Bahai, they had to accept that Jesus had come, that Islam was also from God. You have misinformation In order to educate yourself, try reading actual Bahai books NOT anti Bahai trash. There are more than 100,000 American Bahais-Do you think they're all stupid & YOU are knowledgeable???
@designbar1: PART 4> You are mistaken in assuming that jews cannot convert to Baha’i anywhere in the world. This is MISinformation. My circle of Baha’i friends consists of Baha’is both of all nationalities & religious backgrounds. Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Zoroastrian & native American faiths. This is the most divers circle you will ever see in your life.
This is only because there is a Baha'i restriction on Baha'is living in Israel. If there were no restriction then there would be an overflow of visitors to Baha'i historical sites in Israel. Things are nice and easy by allowing people to go on scheduled pilgrimage or asking permission to visit the Holy Land when they wish. Of course Baha'is who work perhaps maintaining the historical sites, or admin, or such, are allowed to live there. So my buddy explained. The Baha'i Faith is open to all.
@designbar1 Also I'd have to agree with Sarmast. The Baha'is respect the goverment of the country their historical sites are in and therefore do not teach within their country. However I do know a Jewish Israeli family who became Baha'i and moved; freedom of choice right? Nothing stops them from being interested. I'm sure there's some Baha'is who converted to Judaism too. Haha. Whatever floats your boat! haha
@designbar1: PART 3>Baha’i is a peaceful religion & does not wish to add to the great religious conflict that already exists. To show this, Baha’is only go to Israel either for their pilgrimage or for volunteer work in their holy sites. They stay no longer than their time of pilgrimage. They do not sell anything, trade anything or make any profit, whereas thousands of people visit their holy sites & the sites have become one of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites.
@designbar1: PART 2>As for Jews in Israel, Israel is a country dealing with tremendous religious conflicts between muslims, jews & christians all of which have holy sites & claims to this land. Much like Iran where there are prejudiced orthodox muslims, the same exist in Israel & conversion of Jews to Baha’i would mean to them that Baha’is are trying to trick the jews away from their sacred beliefs.
@designbar1:PART 1>ILook at Iran: A muslim living in Iran at CANNOT officially becom a Bahai because of the following reasons 1)there's no Bahai administration 2)Such conversion is against the laws of Iran& Baha’is abide the law 3)Taking a new faith will threaten the life of new Bahai & the B community. We see this very vividly with muslims converting to Christianity in home churches.
in regards to REINCARNATION It is very important that we understand where the Bahai Faith stands on this. We must be very careful not to make the same mistakes that others have made.
Hehe, no worries. I make plenty of spelling mistakes all the time, at the most embarassing moments, too! (For instance, on a resume... but that's another story!) =)
Don't worry, I'm not trying to convert you to Christianity. I think the Baha'i faith is beautiful, and those who follow it are beautiful people. Simply, I'm saying Christianity is not compatible, theologically, with Baha'i. Our souls rest on the same moral truths, but our hearts sing to a different tune. =)
3 of 3 So crude and fantastic a theory of Divine incarnation is as removed from, and incompatible with, the essentials of Bahá'í belief as are the no less inadmissible pantheistic and anthropomorphic conceptions of God-- both of which the utterances of Bahá'u'lláh emphatically repudiate and the fallacy of which they expose.
Any thing you need to know go to: Baha'i Library online.
@PurgingFalsehoods - the word is an interesting thing. A word is a representation of a greater reality in the medium of sound.
If you consider the word of God, that which Jesus Himself said He was, consider that it would be a word of God's, but also the "word" God. The word made flesh, meaning a word not in the medium of sound, but in the medium of flesh.
Would it not be logical to consider that is exactly what Christ is, a representation of God in the medium of our reality?
Your belittling of the Baha'i Faith and your ignorance of its theology makes me realize that its you who has lost touch with the teachings of Jesus, not Baha'is who believe in Christ's Return. I'd be more concerned with yourself before you evangelize via internet =]
Baha'is do not believe in a physical incarnation. And any Manifestation can claim to be God, as the Manifestations have both a Human and Divine station. Baha'u'llah was the Revealer of God, not a literal god Himself.
1 of 3 my dear Subterranium47 in THE WORLD ORDER OF BAHAullah it states: The human temple that has been made the vehicle of so overpowering a Revelation must, if we be faithful to the tenets of our Faith, ever remain entirely distinguished from that "innermost Spirit of Spirits" and "eternal Essence of Essences"--that invisible yet rational God
2 of 3 Who, however much we extol the divinity of His Manifestations on earth, can in no wise incarnate His infinite, His unknowable, His incorruptible and all-embracing Reality in the concrete and limited frame of a mortal being. Indeed, the God Who could so incarnate His own reality would, in the light of the teachings of Bahá'u'lláh, cease immediately to be God.
We as mortal limited beings can in a sense limit ourselves even further (for instance by playing a certain role to the exclusion of other roles). Why then couldn't the infinite unlimited God selflimit if He chose to do so, playing the role of a mortal being?
God is the most glorious, far above anyone or anything of His creatures.
The innermost essence of God is beyond anything humanity can understand and experience, because we are limited and God is infinite; we are creatures and God is the Creator (Gleanings 151, 193).
I don't think you answered my question. The fact that God's innermost essence is beyond our comprehension is all the more reason to be careful in stating what God can NOT do.
Manifestations on earth, can in no wise incarnate His infinite, His unknowable, His incorruptible and all-embracing Reality in the concrete and limited frame of a mortal being. Indeed, the God Who could so incarnate His own reality would, in the light of the teachings of Baha'u'llah, cease immediately to be God. So crude and fantastic a theory of Divine incarnation is as removed from, and incompatible with, the essentials of Baha'i belief...
PinaBarry, I understand from your answer that the Baha'i faith shares the Muhammadan prejudice against incarnation, but the fact that an idea is 'incompatible with' or 'removed from' the essentials of 'Baha'i belief does not make it untrue. Contrary to what the old Testament says God is not a jealous God :). He doesn't mind certain limited manifestations being worshiped as God, because He realizes (how can He not?)that everything is His manifestation!
Getting stuck in one particular manifestation is idolatry. In other words, the Muhammadan who claims that the Q is the only holy book worth preserving, or the Christian who thinks no one can be saved outside of Christianity, they're idolaters, not the person who thinks a statue, or Bach, or Michael Jackson is God.
I will not force my belief on you! We will not agree on this subject!
What is important is that we should respect each other belief!
Let's hope that our outcome will be peace on earth not war! Baha'u'llah has written: "The well-being of mankind, its peace and security, are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established," "The earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens."
Ey B! One of the first Books I've read was The Seven Valleys by Baha'u'llah. I would'nt say it contains the essence of the Baha'i Faith, but it does reflect the progressive charactar of the Faith, growth, the different stages of the spiritual traveler. I think the Book rules :D, love to read it more then once. Well, have a nice day!
hello BesACB To be honest I haven't read many books from the Baha'i Faith, but I also don't know what could be a book that contains the essence of the Baha'i Faith, since there are so many and His Revelation is like an ocean, what could be the essence of that?! :) The Most Holy Book of the Baha'i Faith revealed by Baha'u'llah contains the laws that the Baha'i's need to follow. My personal opinion would be that you find out where's the nearest local Baha'i community and discuss with Baha'i's

It's absurd for a "Baha'i" to preach about "discontent" or "content." Baha'is are the most discontent people I know in terms of religion. Their whole life revolves around fretting about the condition of the world, worrying about it, getting pressure from their corrupt "administration" to "teach, teach, teach" and "give more money to the fund." I have not spoken of my religious practices.

And oddly enough, there seems to be a universal language developing anyway, maybe you could halt it.
waiotahi52 1 week ago
It seems that in religion there are 2sets of Laws, Social and Spiritual. If you want social laws, the Aqdas is the book, however for spiritual laws, kindness, tolerance of others, integrity and truthfulness etc you need the other books, and there are many of them I have discovered, thanks to Mr oneworldbokkofflaws.
waiotahi52 1 week ago

Quick question about the Baha'i faith(I'm not a Baha'i). I know that the international Baha'i headquarters are in Israel, so why are Israelis not allowed becoming Baha'is? This has always baffled me. :s
Katluver1991 1 year ago
@Katluver1991 They are allowed to become Bahai's, but there is no local community there so it lacks administrative qualities. The same reason why Bahai's who are not serving at the world center are not allowed to live in Israel.
But being a Bahai simply means recognizing Baha'u'llah as the manifestation for this day and age. Everything else is a process of becoming a better person.
CyJoZa 1 year ago
@CyJoZa Hmm...it always seemed like there was more to it than that. Haha.
Katluver1991 1 year ago
@Katluver1991 Nope. Its just that you cannot sign cannot be documented as a Bahai because there is no local assembly. Its the same reason why Bahai's do not teach the faith in Israel - there is no community.
CyJoZa 1 year ago

If so, then I would deem it to be a highly political double standard
grail68 8 months ago
@grail68 - I'm going to guess not, based on it having been all one place when the agreement was forged in the first place, but I really don't know.
PeterJDeer 8 months ago
@PeterJDeer Hmmm interesting. Who was the original agreement with then? The British?
grail68 8 months ago
@grail68 The agreement predates the British mandate, as it was within the lifetime of Baha'u'llah. This would also mean it predates the separation of Palestine into two states, so logically I see no reason why it would not also apply in the occupied territories of Palestine. We're apparently not supposed to teach, but can refer interested parties to the offices at the world center if they wish to know more information.
PeterJDeer 8 months ago
@PeterJDeer That's very interesting, and yes of course how silly of me... it would have been the Ottoman Empire... well I'd certainly be interested in learning more about this agreement and the context in which it was made. Do you know of anywhere I might look that would be useful?
grail68 8 months ago

Universal Divine Faith is a bullshit!!!
designbar1 2 years ago
The Baha'i Faith is a universal religion. It is defined as the youngest independent world religion by the Encyclopedia Brittanica. Israel doesn't fund anything related to this Faith, except probably some road maintenance that happen to be near the Baha'i Holy Places. I personally know several persons who were formerly of the Jewish Faith but later became followers of Baha'u'llah, so they became Baha'is. The Universal Divine Faith is proclaimed by all Revelations from God, Islam included.
AlGrundee 1 year ago 31

You may continue your belief in Judaism if you choose so, or remain a Christian, Buddhist or one living without
sinevred 1 year ago
@sinevred
But it's also a fact that the Baha'i communities worldwide respect the laws of the country where they live and are loyal to agreements with authorities. Therefore, because Judaism is the state religion in Israel, Bahai's do not spread their religion at all in Israel, even though their World Centre is located there.
sinevred 1 year ago
@sinevred yes, this is the truth.
Keallei 1 year ago
@designbar1 i think this is in keeping with the respect of the country in which one resides. I think that Jews or Christians or anyone can convert to become a Baha'i but what I think this means is we should not have campaigns of conversion where the official religion is Judaism. This is my opinion and I think for the time being, it is the right thing to do to prevent more war. But in time the position may change. In time most of mankind may be Baha'i, until the successor of Baha'u'llah comes.
Keallei 1 year ago
@Keallei I completely agree with you about "keeping with the respect of the country in which you reside"... then why don't Bahais respect their country of origin (Iran).
It becomes political when you keep shut on conversion issues in Israel but you rebel and protest on the same issues in Iran.
Double standards in divine religion !!!
designbar1 1 year ago
@designbar1
The Bahais residing in Iran do respect the laws of Iran. When their spiritual assemblies were banned, they stopped electing them yearly. When their Feasts and Holy Day commemorations were prohibited in rented halls they have also stopped having them. In almost every country Bahais are free to proclaim their core religious message openly, because it is granted in the laws of that country (in Iran even their basic human rights are denied of them), they don't proclaim it in Iran.
sinevred 1 year ago
@designbar1
So who is having a double standard?
sinevred 1 year ago
@designbar1: There is a difference between protesting the Human Rights violations & disrespecting Iran. Bahais of Iran are denied social security, health care, higher education, jobs, execution of wills, so on & so forth. Do they have a right to speak up? Iran being the cradle of Bahai Faith, the place were more than 20,000 were killed for this belief, it is highly respected & counted as a spiritual grounds for Bahais worldwide. You are misinformed.
sarmast 1 year ago
@designbar1 What do you mean "why don't Bahais respect their country of origin (Iran)"? They are being persecuted.
Keallei 4 months ago
@designbar1: Bahai's dont teach their faith on Israel, because they believe Bahai faith is so attractive that as it is it leaves a lasting effect on people like yourself who've followed up to watch their prayers & write comments. Israel has enough problems, being a religious society with all the conflicts between various religions & ethnic groups. Since like the christians & the moslems, this religion also has NON PROFIT, sacred property in that country, it does not wish to add to the conflict
sarmast 1 year ago
@designbar1: you don't know enough. I am from a jewish ancestry myself,Just so you know, part of becoming a Bahai was for my jewish ancestry to accept & acknowledge that Moses was not the only one. To become a Bahai, they had to accept that Jesus had come, that Islam was also from God. You have misinformation In order to educate yourself, try reading actual Bahai books NOT anti Bahai trash. There are more than 100,000 American Bahais-Do you think they're all stupid & YOU are knowledgeable???
sarmast 1 year ago
@sarmast My very basic question is
"WHY CAN'T A JEW IN ISRAEL CONVERT TO BAHAISM?"
Not in America or in any other country.
designbar1 1 year ago
@designbar1: PART 4> You are mistaken in assuming that jews cannot convert to Baha’i anywhere in the world. This is MISinformation. My circle of Baha’i friends consists of Baha’is both of all nationalities & religious backgrounds. Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Zoroastrian & native American faiths. This is the most divers circle you will ever see in your life.
sarmast 1 year ago
@sarmast Again you are misleading.... it is very very simple, the Jews in Israel are forbidden to convert to Bahaism !!!
Universal religion should not change according to the man made boundaries.
I do know in other parts of the workd anyone can convert to Bahaism but within Israel it is forbidden.
designbar1 1 year ago

We must be very careful not to make the same mistakes that others have made.
pinabarryscott 2 years ago
CORRECTION It should be INCARNATION not reincarnation. (CAN't rely on SPELL CHECK)
pinabarryscott 2 years ago

GOD BLESS!

"It was you who accused the Holy and Upright One, you who demanded that a murderer should be released to you, while you killed the Author of Life."
-Luke 3:14-15
Is Baha'u'llah the Author of Life? Does he uphold Creation by his very nature? Is his life the Atonement of humanity, and the Salvation of the lost?
If he is none of those things, then do not compare this man to Jesus Christ.
planetar4564 2 years ago

God incarnate and god made manifest are the same in my mind.

Indeed, the God Who could so incarnate His own reality would, in the light of the teachings of Bahá'u'lláh, cease immediately to be God.
pinabarryscott 2 years ago
We as mortal limited beings can in a sense limit ourselves even further (for instance by playing a certain role to the exclusion of other roles). Why then couldn't the infinite unlimited God selflimit if He chose to do so, playing the role of a mortal being?
BesACB 2 years ago
My dear friend:
God is the most glorious, far above anyone or anything of His creatures.
The innermost essence of God is beyond anything humanity can understand and experience, because we are limited and God is infinite; we are creatures and God is the Creator (Gleanings 151, 193).

Can the created be the creator !
Exam: can a painting be the painter?
pinabarryscott 2 years ago
I don't think you answered my question. The fact that God's innermost essence is beyond our comprehension is all the more reason to be careful in stating what God can NOT do.

BsACB our writing teach us:
Manifestations on earth, can in no wise incarnate His infinite, His unknowable, His incorruptible and all-embracing Reality in the concrete and limited frame of a mortal being. Indeed, the God Who could so incarnate His own reality would, in the light of the teachings of Baha'u'llah, cease immediately to be God. pinabarryscott 2 years ago
BesACB 2 years ago
Getting stuck in one particular manifestation is idolatry. In other words, the Muhammadan who claims that the Q is the only holy book worth preserving, or the Christian who thinks no one can be saved outside of Christianity, they're idolaters, not the person who thinks a statue, or Bach, or Michael Jackson is God.

@BesACB
Dear friend that is your understanding!
We want peace not war!

Hi, Pinabarry, if you had to recommend one book that contained the essence of the Baha'i faith, what would that be?!
BesACB 2 years ago
DolbyViezueel 2 years ago
hello BesACB To be honest I haven't read many books from the Baha'i Faith, but I also don't know what could be a book that contains the essence of the Baha'i Faith, since there are so many and His Revelation is like an ocean, what could be the essence of that?! :) The Most Holy Book of the Baha'i Faith revealed by Baha'u'llah contains the laws that the Baha'i's need to follow. My personal opinion would be that you find out where's the nearest local Baha'i community and discuss with Baha'i's

@BesACB although the question is not put to me, but the Book Of Certitude by Baha'u'llah would be my answer
