Dude I have a totally different problem with it. When I finish download and click the game exe, it says it needs to install something, and when thats finished it says i need to restart. So I did and next time i tried it said I need to restart again.

And I understood its a known problem for Windows 7

I have installed the game as per instructions but when I go to click play off the autoplay menu it comes up with a box saying that the installation was successful. Reboot to complete installation? So I click yes but does the same thing every time I go to play it?

ok, so I've been wrestling with the CD-install version of this game for a while trying to get in on my computer, but that's never worked, so today I tried this, and I found that after installing it, all I did was install a patch to 1.15 that I had from when I was trying the disks, and then just right after that the game was functional, I didn't even need the fix.

Right after installing, try to patch it to 1.15. Afterwards add the crack. That will probably make the game work.

i bought the retail version unknowing of what would happen, i installed it it told me to reboot my computer so i did then it wouldnt start back up it launched a start up repair then it still wouldnt start up so i was forced to launch a system recovery and i lost all saved applications , all precious photos, all projects i had important to me, etc im not excpecting anyone to fix this im just saying be careful wit the retail version THANKS MIDWAY

@12combo I bought the retail version as well. However, I got it off of somebody at Amazon, and explained the issue. They couldn't help, so they gave me my money back, which I wasn't expecting. I tried to install the retail, anyhow, a long while back, and it simply wouldn't. I didn't have to restart or any major problems like you've spoken of.

@zixo007 Its a crack.. A file that is tampered with that allows anyone to play the game. Not a trojan horse. Virus protections block keygens and cracks because they are similar to trojans.

You could also run the Riseandfall.exe in compatability mode as well. That way you won't have to install a crack.

First find Rise and fall Folder after installing so it should be in for windows 7 C:\Program Files (x86)\Midway Home Entertainment right click on the folder and go into properties then hit the security tab then click on Users (yourname) tick the box Full Control.

This should allow you to mess with the files

Solution for the Cursor Issue:

Open your Registry and go to;

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mi­dway Home Entertainment\Rise And Fall"

and edit the Value "Use Direct Input to Update Mouse" from 0 to 1.

nice informative video and thanks i used your advice and now after months of searching this worked on the rise and fall but ass you say the website where the download is is chock full of malware and spyware but after jockying around all the pop ups and programs other than the one i wanted tried to upload to my computer no matter how many times i said no and tried to cancel i snuck the download in in between popups after many attempts and finnaly got the file so thanks again for your help
