I see it is the sohc cam engine, hardest one to find and $1,200.00 if you find an used engine.Worn out at 120,000 miles, the rings get washed out and known for valve seats dropping out.Nothing but a pos engine.
Typical 2.0 ford motor it dropped #4 cylinder intake valve seat every god damn one of those does it. Its always #4 cylinder and always the intake seat.
@uyesu You just made a fucking ass of yourself read my reply to the video moron and it seems its you that is a internet wanna be tech. I cant even begin to tell you how many of those motors I have repaired because they dropped #4 intake valve seat.
@uyesu dipshit you adressed everyone first and mad a fucking idiot of yourself and I simply showed what a complete moron you are and the fact you have no idea WTF your talking about. You made the dumbass remark of "do you know what it takes to drop a seat" I simply showed that you have no fucking idea what it takes as it happens all the time with those motors jackass. ...............class is over!!!
@uyesu yeah hah ahahaha is right you fucking moron when you don't know what the fuck your talking about keep your fucking pile hole shut or I will shove it up your ass!!!
@HunterCO1 I'd say that you're a real tough cookie. if you were. but you're a slave to arrogance, and arrogance insists you take another swing....and miss again.
go to c.h.i. on ebay they have a reman head for 275 with better valve seats i rebuilt my wifes motor for like 700 bucks runs like a champ. pistons from junkyard be sure to get all four as i found there is different ones "rings are diff" new rings and rob bearings water pump and timing belt .be sure to get all metal out of everything
Dropped valve seat, you can quickly confirm by pulling the spark plugs and you will see physical damage, and you will have low compression on one cylinder.
its a dropped valve seat!! your piston and head are being beat to shit. i have been to alot of junk yards looking for a head and they all dropped valves
unlikley to be a dropped valve, sounds like a small end or similar, but who knows huh, drop the oil check for filings if you have dropped and exhaust valve youl hear a distinct blow out of the exhaust each compression stoke of that cylinder, if intake youl get a blowback out of you intake manifold, its easy drop oil check the others in that order, or if your lazy, compression test that engine,
I agree, dropped valve, happenes to a lot of these motors ( Ford 2.0 sohc in the focus). Happened to mine, connecting rod failed immediately after and dropped onto my driveway. I replaced it with a used engine from a junk yard.
sorry to hear about that man. did u ever fix the problem. we have a Focus with the SOHC and it dropped a valve. had to rebuild the motor.

steven90yau 6 months ago
I tried revving it up to 5000 rpms after I drained the oil and it didn't stop it just made it worse! I don't think that was a good idea!

The valve seats fall out of the heads on the Ford CVH/SPI engines. That's what it is.
