  • hey, man. i got the same exact bike and I've torn it down and I'm in the porcess of rebuilding it now, with the hopes that the end result is this. I'm just wondering if you have a part number or something on those pipes? I look on jcwhitney and couldnt find them. Also, what did you do for the rear fender? Is it the original just cut down? Any help would be great. Thanks

  • hey man can you pm me with the mods you did and where to get the parts? I love those handle bars. I am looking at getting an 81 cm400 for my first bike but something thats a head turner, this would be it. Thanks a lot man.

  • beautiful... i actually just found a used one on craigslist. do you mind if i PM you some questions?

  • That turned out great.

  • JC Whitney mufflers, freaking awesome especially at $29 each

  • Awesome build. Im making my CM using yours as best example. 500? How d u get that low? Bars alone cost around 100, paint stop light turns blah blah it all adds up. Ill be asking 2500$ in Los Angeles. ill post some vids once im done. Great job man.

  • Dude, sick job on the bike. i got a 81cm400. looking to do something similar. how much did it cost to do all that?

  • Dude, Thats a killer bike. Good job

  • One of the best builds I've seen. Good job mate.

  • I really dig this bike. I am looking to pick up the same bike (my first motorcycle), but had some concerns because it is not running. I went to his house to check it out, and it looks really nice, just won't start. I saw a list of all the stuff you did to your bike. Is difficult to get parts for this year/make/model. A buddy of mine told me to avoid it because parts for it are probably discontinued. Thanks for any info & help. Check it out at Craigslist for Dayton, Ohio: 1933795271

  • Hmm. This is something I could try.. I love everything about the bike but the handlebar height. Nothin wrong with it, I just don't think it's comfy to hold your arms so high for any length of time!

Only trouble is, around me the only CM400s for sale are all the hondamatic kind. Good rides I'm sure, but none of that nice *shift*roar*shift*Roar*Shift!*ROAR kinda sounds. :P

  • Nice Job.Hopefully you made a very nice profit when you sold it. Looks like you invested alot of your time into it. What was the gas tank you have on it here? It looks better than my stock tank, but I have a CM400A.

  • I was wondering what bar you put in place of the shocks, I need that exact bar and cant find it...

  • nice bike... do you lost alot of power after runing a while with this exhaust? thx

  • very nice man !!! very nice!!

  • Fantasic build! And at a $500 price point...

  • Very cool!!

  • Fucking nice!

    I love it!

  • how much did this cost in total?

  • including the bike purchase? right around 500

  • @betteronthursday1

Hey man I have a 81 cm400c. Where did you get the parts to make yours a bobber? I would really appreciate any help with this.

  • @betteronthursday1 what? 500bucks? Can you pm me with the modification u did?

  • Nice bike

  • i am having a cb 400 n model 1982 with side car i like u bike look and sound good

  • nice dude not bad. I like the paint on the tank. anyways I think the only thing that I would ding it for is the the sound.

  • Have a cx500,transverse V twin,think i'll bob it.

  • Love it!

  • savage bike!

  • This is the first video i saw on a cm400 bobber. Thanks for the video! I posted a video of my '80 cm400t progress.

  • nice looking bike

  • I learned on a CM400, and I'm still riding the same bike. Now with some cash put it it. A paint job that I'm doing myself It's became a bike that even my uncle a HD onwer cant help but ask if her can take it around the block when he comes to visit.

  • This bike is amazing, you did a kickass job. I have a '78 CB400 TII - has the same awesome mag wheels as yours (I love the look of them). This will be a great inspiration for me. And PS totally agree with your comments too.

  • hmm like that simple seat.

fab'd or did ya buy it somewhere ?

  • i Still kick myself in the ass for selling my little cm400. What a Great bike it was..

  • I want won so bad.

  • unreal bro. she's a little quiet though. let it roar.

  • thanks

  • hey there . this vid been one of my favorits 4 a while just 2 short , love the bike and being lookin 4 1 since the 1. time i saw the vid .honda and beutifull built, mine wuld have 2 be a rat though but still a nice peace of work just love it

  • U took the words right out of my mouth in your "more info" part

    Nice bike mate

  • sweet bike man. Good job!

  • also just have to say that this bike is verrry sexy!!!

  • just wondering is there a big difference between the cm400 and a super hawk 400 or are they the same>?

i just bought a 78 super hawk and dont know much about old bikes.

  • Looks well done. You should be proud!

  • sweet I love it amazing work I have a 79 cm400a and this inspired me

  • looks cool but it needs a smaller tank. like an old peanut style or a new sportster tank would look cool. keep up the good work.

  • how comfortable is the ride?

  • what do i have to do about the standard bike to make it look like this? please tell me all about it i'm quiet new in the chopper/bobber world. I own a Honda CB450 nighthawk to rebuild into a bobber or something like that.. what do i have to do to make the seat like yours?

  • My Dad Has one but its in OEM shape MINT too dont think he would be up to choppin his down LOL!!!! Great looking bike man!!!

  • *****

  • is this a hondamatic?

  • No, its the CM400 with 5spd clutch.

  • Oh you LUCKY motherfucker lol

  • nice bike bro, i'm bobbing out an old 79 cb250t which will end up looking a bit like yours especially in the rear, i'll post a vid once it's done, i have to ride a 250cc for a year until i get my full licence, got a 650 chop which i stopped riding until my licence is sorted, too many cops on the road! cheers

  • he wants 1,995 dollars for the bike right now on philly craigslist. is that too much

  • well i sold it to him for 1500, and from what i see hes done nothing with it. He even used the pictures i used when i sold it, kinda lazy on his part. So your looking at about 2 year old pictures at this point. If you had a stock CM400 or any bike of that generation, you can make it look like this or better for less then 500 bucks. Check out my XS650 vid of my other bike for ideas.

  • 1500 bucks??? that's nothing

  • Niice, id love a bike like that

  • nice bike bro i got a 1980 cm400t .........id love to make it look like that ..wow that would be cool

  • love the bike dude, you have some good and cheap idea's goin on

  • No. i sold it like a year ago, i think the guy who bought it off me is trying to sell it again for way more then he bought it off off me for. He has no idea what he is talking about either if you ask him questions about it.

  • are you selling your bobber on philly craigslist?

  • Never knew a honda could end up sounding like that. Pretty cool.

  • NICE bobber ! I like it ! I want to get one when I get financially able again !

  • I have a cm400c from 1981...i like yours tho its pretty nice but i think ill keep mine stock...i rebuilt it last summer and i almost have it completely original..nice work man

  • mola la moto!!!!

  • im in the middle of building a 82 honda cm 450 im tryin to make it a bobber where did u order that taillight and tagplate thats what i was looking for

  • yours got over head cams? or is it just original stock, cus my cousin next door has a 3 of these bikes and he is going to turn one in to a bobber. but he removed the 400 and put a 450 cus it couldnt get up to speed on the highway around here people drive like idiots. One last thing where did you get your exhaust pips at his is original too the old spread cone ends to them.

  • I love your bobber

  • is that engine air cooled?

  • it is air cooled

  • Nice job!

  • Wow looks nothing like my old CM400 LOL.

  • pulled the stock mufflers off my OL cm 400 and welded 2" slashcut tips on, sounded great but no power, so Iwelded washers inside the pipes that have a 7/8" hole in them, nice sound(louder than harley with strait pipes)and gained all power back

  • what and where did you get the seat

  • You´re all so lucky people in the US. Nothing at this bike will be allowed on german streets. Our so called "safety standards authority" prohibits every cool parts.

  • hang in there man...that's just not right.

  • its the same way here, you have to put all the safety equip back on to pass inspection, then take it back off. the cops will still ticket you though, if they feel like busting your chops.

  • Very true, I had to reconnect the horn and put the front fender back on to get it to pass inspection.

  • i found the mufflers on ebay if anyone is still looking

  • interested in trade?

  • I try to bay the exhaust on line but i didn't find it somebody help me.

  • Men you have to tell me how to find the muffler, turn signal, seat, handlebar.

Do you have shocks and if you don't how is the ride

Awesome job you have to post pictures of that bike.

  • Send me a message via youtube with your email address. I will send you some pics and more info.

  • what kind of exhaust is on that??? not the stocker??

  • 2 shorty bolt of mufflers. Total, 40 bucks

  • is that a stock tank? if not what kind of tank is it and how did you fit it? I have a CM400T that is getting a new tank, just having a problem with fitment with the wide backbone!

Either way, that's a sweet ride man! Good job on it!

  • stock, molded it with bondo.

  • ok so i just got a cm400t and want to do some fun stuff to it!!! your bike looks great and i was just wondering if you could list off the mods just to get an idea!!! i would really appreciate it!

  • I'm building a cb 450 right now what do you have for a tank on there is that custom or off another bike i almost got the frame fab done i'm just deciding a tank right now

  • I actually molded the stock tank with bondo to look custom. Just did the edges around the tank to round it off.

  • LOve the bike. A buddy of mine did one like that in high school looked great .

  • what did u do to modify the frame?

  • It was pretty simple actually. From what i remember all i did was cut the rear of the bike off behind the stock shock mounts, then installed 2 pieces of steel in place of the shocks to lower it.

  • lovely!whith so reduced buget so great bike, great work man!

  • sweet bike :)

  • Nice bike. I would wear more gear though.

  • How much did you put into it!!!!!...i love it...your bike looks better than those posers who spent like $50g's on their tacky Harleys

  • Basically got the bike for 250 bucks, and put about another 300 into to get it looking the way it does. More time and experimenting then money, but it paid off. Thanks for the compliment!

  • felicidades cabron ta bien chingona tu moto no conosco de motos pero la tuya se ve bien perrona saludos de mexico

  • can you tell me what mufflers they are?

  • Motocicletas muy veloces, muy buenas que no le piden nada a las motos con motor en V

  • Is this bike for sale ?

  • What Type of fuel tank is that?

  • The tank is actually the stock cm400 tank. I used bondo and molded the entire thing for a more custom look. Then just taped it off and did a few coats of paint.

  • man,i am from brasil, and we got here a very similar one. cb400/450.

i want to do something like that. congratulations!!!

  • coolllllllllllllll

    is it a hard tail????????

  • It is a hard tail. I actually just removed the shocks and cut 10 inch pieces of quarter inch steal to make hard struts. It actually drives pretty nice.

  • nice bike

  • sweet little bobber
