there are some japanese traditional style of retailer in ameyoko. i have been to ameyoko for some times and its been really interesting in around new year. come over again if you can.
See the video description! I noted my mistake! ^_^ ame does mean candy, but usually it is written あめ. The sign for the street says アメ which often is short for America アメリカ. Some places that talk about this street say it means one thing and some the other. But yea as the video description says it means Candy Store Alley ^_^
LOL!!!! I was just about to put Ame yoko on my list of things to do when I visit in October untill I watched the end of this!!! LOL!!! Eh, might be worth it anyways!!! LOL!! That shop keeper seemed like a nice fella.
Awesome video!!! This is the stuff I like to see. Cheers!
Vendor: "Dokkara kitano?" (Where you from?)
You: "Mmmm, oishii. But it's chewy!"
Priceless moment!

Seems to be a very interesting shopping street---and it's not too long so you can easily walk through. That's great.
