  • Mr Spock after a sex-change...

  • I am really happy for the Green Party :)

  • Caroline Lucas...a sex symbol for the stuffy middle classes?

  • Go Green! :D

  • woo a socialist lefty elected to house of commons who will try and do her best to save "mother earth" when the major problem is overpopulation, i wonder if if she will ever mention it in the house of commons or try to get a 1 child policy passed. i doubt it.

  • @Chriseycarlyeah324 Your very stereo-typical just because she is left wing. I guess you think she has a picture of Kim Il-Sung on her wall? Least it is good to have a real ideological-based MP in the House of Commons instead of the grey blurs we have now.

  • my point is she and all the green party's are missing is missing the real green issue that the earth is overpopulated, name me one problem that is wrong in our environment the root course is our overpopulation.

  • @Chriseycarlyeah324 It is right to say that major environmental problems are related to over-population, however that issue can be addressed by correct managemant without having to regulate our demographics by social policy.

  • watch?v=YkgDhDa4HHo

this is best vid i can find to explain my postion

  • @Chriseycarlyeah324 Ha ha. Thanks for showing me that. That guy has a point though!

  • @flametaledfox he is a genius this is my personal favourite

  • @Chriseycarlyeah324 Well most Green Political Theorists agree that over-population is a problem. In fact the idea of reducing the extraction of finite resources is one which the green party hold very strongly. The UK isn't overpopulated to the extent where you have to deny people the right to have more than one child.

  • She is the only Politician I trust!!

  • Yet another middle class leftie who's never had a real job.

  • @regvarney So you know her ENITRE work history do you?

  • @Jdrizzz Well if she has had a real job please tell me.By the way, if you must put words in block capitals, please spell them correctly!

  • @regvarney Unlike you, I don't claim to know the contents of her CV, so I do not know what work she has had. You are making assumptions about her work history, based on no evidence. Oh and by the way, I'm so sorry for deeply offending you by committing the horrible offence of a typo. I know that it pains you deeply when someone makes even the smallest typing error, whilst they are suffering from insomnia, at three in the morning.

  • @Jdrizzz If you want to learn the contents of her cv learn to use Wikipedia or whatever.Sorry to hear about your insomnia, hope you weren't late for school.

  • A marvellous result. Not just Britain's first Green MP, but the world's first Green MP elected by First Past the Post.

It's taken 25 years of local campaigning. In 1985, the first lone Ecology Party candidate stood in Hanover ward (then in Kemptown, now in Brighton Pavilion).

After a name change, by 1987 Brighton & Hove Green Party put up candidates in eight wards. The number of candidates and support increased yearly until in 1996 Brighton's first Green Councillor was elected.

    Frabjous day!

  • Well done Caroline

  • Well done Caroline! Adrian Ramsay will be joining you in 2015 along with many, many others!

  • @policemanandrew ...banning cars in Brighton to reduce congestion seems eminently coherent and logical.

  • Lol, she looks like an elf.

  • Well done Brighton Pavillion on being the only part of the country to see sense!

  • @emilysdmx What has she actually done for the people of Brighton? She's never there, and refuses to live there! When asked why she is based in Brussels, she said she prefers her children to go to school in Brussels as the schools there are better than the ones in Brighton (a ringing endorsement for the city that elected her). And when she does come to Brighton from London, instead of being 'green' and using the train (which would get her to Brighton in 45 minutes), she prefers to be driven down

  • @magnatron2010 Some classic lies there. Well done.

  • Hey all you Brightonions. Get out your kaftan, quorn burgers and organic dandelion wine and start celebrating!!!!

And all those with a car in already congested Brighton, kiss it goodbye because she wants to ban them all.

But she was voted in democratically, so I wish her all the best. Perhaps a change is as good as a rest eh?

  • @policemanandrew You don't have to be a vegetarian tree hugger to support progressive policies
