1st. Criss said on TV where he got the idea for this trick, from the "Penetration Frame". You put cards in frame push pencil through cards, buy it at any magic shop for $10..He kept the working principal and made it big and used a store front. It is a great twist and update on an old trick...

The upper part of the window does'nt need to be covered, but i've seen the same trick with just a small part of the glass covered (at a real jewelery store with solid walls).

So there must be another explanation, at least for the other version of the trick.

Well, but i've seen this trick performeds by David Blaine where he reaches trough the glass of an ordinary jewelry store in New York or somewhere and as far as I can remeber the paper didn't cover the hole lower part of the window.

there is a problem with this reveal, if you look at the small crach at the bottom of the window between the paper and the window sill you will still see a reflection. meaning that the window couldn't slide up out of the way
