Thanks for the great memories with this old film! I was stationed at Clark, 89-90' to combat the NPA (New Peoples Army) that organized a coup attempts in 89',they killed several civilians around Manilla to include random killings of several GIs coming out of bars in Angeles at night. These bars were the best and the girls were dolls!Happy Chicks,Abby Road,Roxy,Crazy McCabes,Maverick City,For Your Eyes Only, Red Baron,Crows Nest,Tropicana-2 for 1 Red Horse night!Great times+great memories! THANKS
@bikejunkie007 dang dude, I was there then too. 82-90. I was a civiilian the last 2 years stuck downtown after they pulled all the GIs on base. unreal. Finally left 2 days before Pinatubo blew. told my boss in NY my security guard at the house got his gun taken away by NPA. Hope you fucked up some NPA. I guess Pinatubo did what they could not in kicking us out.
@bikejunkie007 wow, familiar names indeed. I lived in Clarkview Sub, behind the Clarkton House and red Lips Bar. Used to cut through the barrio/squatters from my house to go to Red Baron...they had some nice lookers in there in mid-late 80's. Was on their pool team 86-87. I miss the hard Rock Cafe too and Superhead, where it was "nice with ice". ha ha ha, the good ole' days.
Yeah, when I first got to PI in 1981 (Subic US Navy), exhange rate was 6p = 1$, so 40 p is right. But by 85 (where I was stationed at Clark from 85-90), it was 14-16 to 1, up to 20 -1 when I left. But the barfines now not unreasonable @ 1000 P with exchange of 50 -1, Still works out to the same $ as it always has. And I do admit to a coulpe of ugly ones, but they must had to have absolutely smoking bodies. I paid over 500 barfines/shortimes by my most modest estimates!!!
@ironicjesus yes- still got it and seems to work fine !!!! Though I did give it quite a work out my days in the service. I took my hits for sure, but never got the HIV or AIDS, it was at a time before it really made it to PI, just beat the wave, lucky me. I could help medical research more so for my 36+ years non-stop of 420 use and leading a very successful life based on hard work and efforts put out. I realize I am an exception rather than the rule.
Genesis bar sucked for the "Locals" chicks were barely Fields Ave material...belonged on "Blow Row" on McArthur Hi-Way. Places that rocked in 85-89: Red Lips, Red Barron, Hard Rock, Third Eye and Murphuy's was a blast if you wanted to tangle with some Mojo and hot barfines, wild babes in there. I also liked El Toro, just down the street. Met and married a girl I met there actually-will be celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary the August 2009. Best wife in the world and still totally hot.
Got my wife's first passport at the Jet Travel Service in side Third Eye "Triangle". So it's gone now huh? I hung out at The Hard Rock Cafe as a favorite, off by itself in a local neighborhood, free to party, away from the hustle and bustle. I miss rounds or "samples" at Fire Empire, gotta remember that place, accross the street from The World Famous Nipa Hut!!!!
Nah, Nipa Hut was the place where they searched you to ensue you hadno cameras because of all the live sex shows acts inside. You weren't allowed to photograsph. Standing on MacArthur facing Dau, it was last one on the right side. The P exchange rate was approx 16-22 P per $ in the mid/late 80's. "Short times" were basically 100 P and a barfirne was 200 P. A Sample BJ on "Blow Row" was 20 P. Never saw 40P action unless it was 2 girls to give "Samples"!!!!!!!
Studio One used to be run by a ex pschyatrist from Clark, I think it went over the road and became Nipa Hut, he moved the show to Fields after, then somebody fired six slugs into his body and that was the end of him however I've lost a few brain cells since then so could be wrong, barfines dont exist now under that name and the price is more like 1000p.
40p BJ at Hard Rock 1980, you must have got the ugky ones for 20p,(only joking)
As I was based at Clark during the early and mid eighties and I now live here in Angeles.I still long for the days when I was in the military at Clark
