Crosman M4-177 Multi Pump Pellet gun Review

ok a really good way to make this gun semi auto is to get the 30 round magazine type and fit two 12 gram co2 cartrages in the mag and one 12 gram cartrage in the handle and thus will allow under mounting with that power you can probably get 800 fps to 50 rounds which would make this gun amazing

this gun is great, the only gripe I have with it is the bottom rail on the pump, I wish they would have made it a full rail

yep.. I'm not sure who dropped the ball on that one.. someone in design should have noticed that was going to be a problem before going to production.

Watch the video... If I remember correctly.. many worked really well. I use the Crosman Premier Hollow points.

What happens if you pump it more then 10 times?

you can blow the valve and damage the gun.. pumping more than 10 times does not increase power.

Also, I think it's safe to say that if you would have left your M4 a virgin (not use bbs), and with a cheap 4x32 scope, you could have got 1/4" groups at 15 yards.

I'm sure you are right. Using BBs in these dual purpose guns.. only turns them into a single purpose gun in the long run. I'm using this to teach my little one to shoot. The stock is short enough she can actually shoulder the gun.

Rick, maybe you should shoot Misterkulgel pellets and see what you get. Miketheknife shot a group with that rifle pellet combo and I was impresed for a rifle of this quality one nice hole with that pellet.

I bought this gun November 2011. Also bought the Crosman laser sight and mounted a bipod under the front muzzle rail. Accurate up to a long distance and more fun with the laser.

Great review as always Rick. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I feel the increasing popularity of tactical-look guns - both air powered and powder burning - will hurt our shooting sport.  To non-shooters and enthusiasts alike, there is a different perception between sporting style guns and tactical, and I fear the proliferation of the tactical look will only encourage new legislation we'll have to fight harder against. definitely reminds me of my old 760, never used it for much of anything other than plinking. Fun over accuracy. As for bb's, you can't expect much past ten yards. It never compared to my red ryder even at five yards. Although I still want an m4-177.

The accuracy was odd... Even a Crosman 760 Smoothbore gets better groups. You can be sure that when I get my M4 17, it will be a pellet only rifle! :P

Love the little pellet clip. Grew up shooting a 760 and loading pellets was always bothersome. This looks like a fun little rifle that young shooters can hone their skills with. Wish it was around 40 years ago! Thanks Rick for all you do!

Crossman Pump Master, 2100 & ... what's the name of the one in between those two? well that's the one i would like to see this done to. Has a nice trigge (like a Benjamin Silver Streak) , a rifled barrel (pump master is smooth bore) and is more powerful and accurate : )

The remington air master is a good gun.. not sure of the mechanics or what it really different between the air master and the pump masters, but the accuracy was good in the air master I had years ago.. this was a fun gun to shoot.

@AirGunWeb that remington is the same as the crossman 2100. but the one i was talking about is a crossman that's all black, sells at big5 a lot for 44$ on sale, and is bigger than the pumpmaster. but lighter than the 2100.

Hey there.. Crosman says it can be used for small pest control.. and with the right shot I'm sure it can. it is very, very, close to 6 foot pounds which is the minimum for small game like squirrels and rats.
