  • 'Foam only' ? And 'Foam Last'? 'Latte Macchiato' is in italian just a plain glass of steamed milk 'marked' on the top of the foam with a stain of coffee to show there's a a little espresso in it (but so little you can hardly see it in the glass). The name 'macchiato' sounds cool, right -and the definition gets more and more fancy.

  • agreed

  • 'Macchiato' in italian means 'marked', and in coffee therminology the reason why this 'name' came to use decades ago in italian caffè's is: customers ordered espresso with just a little milk in (so little, that you couldn't see it). The 'dollop' is there to show there's milk underneath the crema.

  • Way too much milk to be named a 'macchiato'.

  • You are right, by the way a Latte Macchiato or an Espresso Macchiato?

Espresso Macchiato is just Espresso first than Foam Only.

A Latte Macchiato is Steam Milk + Foam Last top with Espresso Shots on center top.

  • coffee+ cream???

    or

    coffee + milk?

  • This is a largish macchiato, about 2 oz. of espresso and 2oz. of microfoamed steamed 3.5% milk (like you get in a capp or a latte)
