  • Everyone was happy back then, well-fed with good housing and clothing and employment for all. If only we could bring back the old days when children were treasured and the Catholic Faith was supreme.

  • I can't stand all that Dublin nostalgic crap - my most vivid memory of Dublin in the 70's was that the Liffey smelled like a sewer.

  • I often heard my mother talk about these things and the characters mentioned but didn't know they existed until I heard it on here.

  • Jesus Bingo, wonderful stuff! It make me cry from the nostalgia and longing to be back there again. When I see how life was when I was a child and then I think fo the horrible materialistic world we live in now, I am so glad I was lucky enough to have had a childhood in the 1960s. We could run free and simple things meant everything to us. Well done and thanks so much for the memory.
