  • WTF? This is shit it's something that would happen like modern? There's like strippers so retarded none of that stripper shit happened

  • what's the name of that man who says: Antony stay not too long in alexandria????

  • Cleopatra was Macedonian, i.e. Greek, so she probably had black hair and olive skin.

  • @summergirlx17- yes, that was Burton as Henry-

  • wait... Richard Burton plays Henry VIII in Anne of Thousand Days? or is that someone else?

  • class

  • what a great mediterranean passion!!!

  • "now i will never be free of you." love that line. so seductive.

  • white people blue eyed playing middle Easters hahahhahaha wow

  • @ilovebubu28

Ancient Egyptians were white people. Egypt wasn't filled with Arabs until the Muslims conquered them in the 8th century.

Over 70% of Anglo-Saxons are related to King Tut and half of Western European men are related to King Tut. Below 1% of modern day Egyptians aka Muslim Arabs are related to King Tut.

    The more you know!

  • Sentire Marcantonio parlare inglese è veramente divertente.

  • Elizabeth was the Greatest Actress of all times.

    What Was a beautiful Lady

  • @phoenix1985 That is completely untrue. I would suggest doing some in depth reading about Cleopatra. She was a murderess, but not to the extent that any post-Augustian thinkers would have liked you to believe. None of her siblings died in battle, and two of her brothers (who were her husbands) died of abnormal circumstances, and she allowed her sister Arsinoe to die. If you want to know more about Cleopatra read "Cleopatra: Histories, Dreams and Distortions by Lucy Hughes Hallet.

  • @justinbieberfan4502 Yes, the Hellenistic Line is believed to have been pale. While this film is an utter dramatization with inconsistincies so great it would make your head spin, the problems that you pointed out are not the ones to concern yourself with.

  • Oh, SNAP!

    I love it!

  • @3215murph Her first hustband/brother tried to usurpe the thrown that they should have shared equally and have her murdered. So thats not her fault. Her second brother died of sickness, not murder.

  • @3215murph How so? All of her siblings, save 1, died in battle, or by Caesar's or Antony's orders. The other died of sickness. She never took any life save her own in her final hour. So how, pray tell, was she a murderer? The closest thing she did to murder was support Antony and Octavian in their hunt for Caesar's assassins. And all she did was lend them money. So again, I ask you, how was she a murderer?

  • @5StarGeneralXenoCO well basically he just got majorly dissed by Octavian lol

  • wow that cleopatra look-a-like looks just like liz taylor

  • @3215murph how would she win 2 Oscars if she wasnt?

  • Need some ice for that burn Germanicus

  • @phdragons1234 I DON'T GET IT!!! >_<

  • why is cleopatra a white skin old ragedy female..................

  • @HanDynasty26349 u dont think elizabeth taylor was pretty?!!!

  • @HanDynasty26349 probably because she was Greek and not African like you think

  • Taylor was a great actress, she just wasted her talents in bad movies, but the good movies that she starred in always won Academy Awards.

  • Isn't it a lucky destiny to have more than one actress for different movies with diffrent themes and for different tastes ? There's no accounting for taste. I'm glade about every actress who chose to perform and to make beautiful films, so there are more than a just an few movies.

  • Nice end touch lol

  • Where is mark antony?

  • Mt favorite part: "I want to be free of you!"

  • Its true tho...Elizabeth taylor was An Amazingly Beautiful woman....How could you be that beautiful and still live with your self...( No homo)

  • I love the scene when he comes to her bedroom!!!

  • rest in peace sweet lady liz :P 1932 - 2011

  • They made different types of films and played different characters. Taylor couldn't play the roles that Marilyn was brilliant in and Monroe couldn't play the parts Taylor did.

  • Elizabeth was most defintely a much better actress but to compare beauty is not fair they are both seriously equally beautiful in their own way!! :)

  • Los dos eran bellos y pasionales!!! Si hay vida después de la tierra, seguro que están juntos, amándose ya que siempre se quisierón mucho. REP.

  • Liz and Richard are now together again, R.I.P.

    <3

  • Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton met filming Cleopatra. Their encounter marked the start of a tumultuous relationship, which, in addition to their amazing talent, contributed to make them icons.Taylor was uncosnsolable when Burton died in 1984. She hoped to be buried in his grave. They are now both reunited. R.I.P.

  • @LaMarquiseDeMerteuil Im not surprised that she was inconsolable. I read somewhere that when she got back from his furneral and spending time with his family, He had sent her a letter stateing that he had only every really felt at home when he was with Elizabeth and that he wanted to come bak home and be with her her agin. How heart breaking is that. And I dont know how true this is but is she is buried with the letter and always kept in her bedside table.

  • I like this movie. It is educational and also fun to follow. Yet it's sad how Ceasar died. And it's amazing how much you learn about Egypt out of one movie. Elizabeth Taylor is a GOOD ACTRESS AND HAS A GOOD POSTURE. I liked this movie alot.

  • No wonder Richard Burton fell head over heels in love!

  • Taylor did not act well in this movie. She was also a bit dumpy with poor posture and as confrontational in the role as she was in real life.

  • Este filme concerteza vai ficar eternizado em Elizabeth Taylor!!!!

    Para sempre em nossos corações!!!!

    Abraços

  • i would adore to have such a furious love with someone like these two did. it's so sweet. <3

  • Elizabeth Taylor is in heaven now

  • God Bless You dear.. Love You

  • R.I.P Dame Elizabeth! I'll never forget you, you'll always be my idol! <3

  • Thank you beautiful Elizabeth for all that you added to the world around you. You were appreciated and loved. R.I.P

  • Omg I love this scene!

  • Great movie, the best part was when Cleopatra tells him, " perhaps some other time" in this clip 3:56 RIP Elizabeth Taylor

  • Thank-you for sharing your talent, beauty, and grace all these many years. Sleep well Elisabeth.

  • rest in peace elizabeth taylor, as an immortal legend

  • fuck the senate.

  • R.I.P

  • Passionate kisses like fly in spider's web. Soon lead to undoing of fly.

  • oh SNAP! haha(:

How old was Cleopatra during these events? She must have been very young.

  • wait, so Cleopatra always liked Anthony but went for Julius instead?

  • Interesting to see how all the Egyptian servants are all black, but the royalties are all white.

  • @gregoriodavila Well, most of the servants were probably slaves that were captured from Africa. Africans enslaved Africans at that time. And back then, white skin was considered a sign of power, just like in Europe, a heavier woman was seen as more wealthy, and more attractive than a skinny woman (because she had the money to eat that well). To have pale skin meant that you didn't do labor, or stayed in the sun. It was the same was in the Asian countries also.

  • @SasoDeiLover7 Thanks for the info... I figured that... but it's also a sign of Hollywood at the time. Just like when you see old movies with Native Americans they were always white people with dark makeup on their skin.

  • Women are sooo confusing-Its obvious Cleo wanted to be taken by Marc....and probably, wouldnt have him any other way. It would mean he is not the man that goes after what he wants. On the other hand women call that beastial and animalistic. When will they mean what they say. Say what they really want and mean.

  • Is it just me or does most of the senators seem gay?

  • @degutcitas yea tacos haha,softshelled of course,HOLD THE CHEESE!

  • I love it when men express themselves and spill out everything emotional about themselves to you. It's even better when it's pent up because when it eventually does comes out it's explosive! It's so seductive to watch and impossible to resist. He must have had years worth of deeply repressed feelings towards Cleopatra. It took massive quantities of alcohol to shatter his stoic, militant reserve. She undid him with her games and he gave into her. The poor man couldn't stop himself if he tried.

  • Cleopatra, una de las más famosas cortesanas de todo el tiempo.

  • 'I want to be free of you, of wanting you, of being afraid'

'Then Caesar would not premit it'

    *Rips necklace*

    *KISS*

    WOW, that was hotttt!!!!!

  • "Sit up. I want to see if you sleep with your memories."

    Epic.

  • Antony was jealous!!!lol

  • She's letting him squirm. Another wife will be eating tacos, soon...

  • richard burton is such a good actor!

  • Richard Burton's kinda cute. And as Antony he becomes even cuter.

  • I don't know why but the look of Richard Burton and when he's acting in this he reminds me of James Marsters a bit, wierd, is it just me?

  • Sir Burton is one of the greatest of all times. i like his leapard shirt. lol

  • didnt it hurt when he yanked out the necklace

  • Sorry, but you are speaking of her. likes she were dead??

    She is not ;)

But yes, she is the greatest of them all =)

  • Seeing Richard Burton in action is phenominal....he makes looking at Elizabeth and Eddie Fisher have one asking, why eddie???? Richard and Elizabeth now that's a match divine :) Love them both!!!!

  • Richard Burton came full circle with this role having played Alexander the Great and then the lover to the last of the great Hellenistic rulers Cleopatra VII.

  • its hilarious how the dancers get around anthony in 1:47

  • Damn, that was good wine!

  • Thanks so much FridayNightMovieZ for posting this. It has been a great way to watch the movie and read everyone's posts and post my observations. I first saw this in 1963 when I was 18. Still enjoy it almost 50 years later.

  • @rbutler8273 Good day, thank you for your clarification, but I am aware of the "real" Cleo's attributes other than "physical" beauty.I meant to point out that film "glamorizes" historical evidence/facts.

  • I first watched Cleopatra when I was about 5, and even then, I thought Elizabeth Taylor is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. Cleopatra IS her. She looks every bit a queen. :)

  • lol oh snap ;0

  • Burton and Taylor were destined to be together, in this life and in eternity. To see them in this picture embracing is divine. I must get the DVD now and enjoy this epic film in its true glory. Thanks for this presentation!

  • I agree with you, some couples are suited together, even when they end up divorcing. Elizabeth and Richard, Lucy and Desi, and Tony and Janet. they will always love each other, no matter what.

  • Richard Burton is brilliant, what a voice!!!

  • Rich is Magnificent! The "real" Cleo did not look like Liz, I have an 80 drachma bronze minted in Alexandria & the profile doesn't even come close. On the other hand,Roddy does bear a slight look to Octavian/Augustus Caesar

  • @divustitus I still love James Purefoy in the HBO Rome as Mark Anthony, you are right about Cleo, though, the real one was nothing special to look at!. Roddy does resemble Octavian in appearance, but is nothing like him in personality!

  • I love Elizabeth Taylor,to me she was more beautiful than Marilyn Monroe and definatly a better actress!

  • you can't compare them in that right, they were tow different types of Actress's and different in looks too

  • they were both gr8 in there own right, two very different people and actress's.............

  • there two different actress's, two diff woman, both amazing in their own right

  • @TheSutphen anyone was a better actress than marilyn monroe....sooo not a great comparison....

  • @TheSutphen In YOUR opinion Elizabeth Taylor is more beautiful than Marilyn Monroe. But I do fully agree with you about Elizabeth Taylor being a far better actress than Marilyn Monroe.

  • @TheSutphen, and she was also more beautiful and by far a better actress than many of the actress of now days.
