She was a murderess, but not to the extent that any post-Augustian thinkers would have liked you to believe. @gregoriodavila Well, most of the servants were probably slaves that were captured from Africa. Africans enslaved Africans at that time. And back then, white skin was considered a sign of power, just like in Europe, a heavier woman was seen as more wealthy, and more attractive than a skinny woman (because she had the money to eat that well). To have pale skin meant that you didn't do labor, or stayed in the sun. It was the same was in the Asian countries also.
