This whole thing is one big fallacy! Yes, perhaps they are hypocrits, but that doesn't make their conclusion, that global warming is dangerous and need to be stoped, any less sound. There is no science behind global warming. You do realize that this was the exact opposite in the 70s right? They thought the ice age was coming. Think about it. Carbon is a cash cow. Taxing carbon and setting up a scheme to force businesses to buy carbon offsets and making the citizens feel guilty enough to buy them as well could prove to be a very lucritive, but useless way to generate income. Especially since it is hard to verify the validity our value of these said projects.

It wasn't the exact opposite in the 70's there were a few scientific papers that noted a recent cooling trend, and a few popular media outlets took that and ran with it. There were many more papers about global warming, and even many of the papers about the recent short term cooling noted that the bigger concern was was the longer term warming that had been taking place, and not the short period of cooling we experienced.

As I mentioned before we did experience a short period of cooling back then, but there were many more papers concerning global warming, and even many of the papers about the short period of cooling acknowledged the longer, and more drastic warming.

My only point was that regardless of whether or not global warming is taking place, and is a large concern, The vast majority of the scientific community supported it then just as they do now
