Its very apparent that he is high as a kite - and trying to catch up - which, to me, made it friggin more awesome - he was overwhelmed! Like - yeah, Im a bit stoned but I can't believe all these people really, really, really love my music. Wow. How cool is that? Where is he these days? I want to bite his ass. LOL!! (aw, a straight chick from Philly area am I) i am am i am i am. And a pirate?
Yes there's more footage. There are plenty of "Stage" video torrent files, some very good. There's also a very cool and well done German special called David Bowie - Musikladen 1978. This is iindeed a good phase of the master.
I was at this gig, Friday 30th june 1978. It was my 16th birthday and i had travelled down from Llandudno Junction in North Wales. This is taken from "The Weekend Show" presented by Janet Street Porter and I am on the film (one of the fans outside Earls Court)....What a day that was!!
@ivankaramasov This is around the time that he and Klaus Nomi hung out, which lead to David's famous appearance on SNL, incased in a plastic suit (Nomi's signature look) in which he had to be carried on stage by his two back-up singers (one was Nomi), because the suit was so rigid. Awesome tv moment! David pushed envelopes via costume/make-up before Kiss, Madonna, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson...All of them cite him as an influence in their music, and rightly so. Stone-cold genius.
This is good because it conforms pretty well to the original version before the song got twisted from the compassionate personal vision & reduced in length.
Ich bein ein Berliner. This man summed up a gneration of hope. God bless us all.

Robert Fripp sites the guitar work on this track as one of the highlights of his recording career.
Fantastic really when you consider it was his first and only take on a track he had never even heard prior to the take.

I think the way Bowie looked on this tour is the coolest anybody has ever looked in the history of mankind. Seriously.
