  • This is one of the best game supplements White Wolf came out with in regards to writing concepts and art in my opinion.

  • @sonoflillith1 It was certainly an interesting book. I enjoyed it.

  • sounds like a kewl book. The more you talk abou this game, the more I want to try playing.

  • @QuinnSilver glad to hear it.

  • Yes, there are so many of these 'side' books we can use and be inspired by in our games. I'm still going through the canon (:)) you suggested to me on the download. Wow. So much there that we can all use, use in part, use in veiled, or use in the opposite in some part. Amazing stuff. I think. Wonderful to be thrown against :) Good stuff here. Cheers :) Ghouls I like...though never liked teenaged ghouls ;)

  • @23penguins32 Yes, there is a lot that can be ported to any game, the context the ideas. The deep level of role-playing that was brought to the forefront by WoD really can add a lot of texture to any game. The tone of darkness in this book is truly excellent.

  • @woodwwad We like the tone of darkness :)

  • @23penguins32 hell yeah

  • I used to own that book! I like the way you move your hands and change your voice whan you get involved in the reviews.

  • @MaccacarianGuy Thanks, I tend to be an animated sort.

  • This source book is alot of fun to role-play. We did a 4 session mini-campaign where I let my Masquerade players roll up their favorite "right hand" ghoul, which they then played. It was fun to watch my players see their characters from new eyes as they were berated, condescended to and praised. Role-playing was so much fun because of the addiction aspect of the game. One of the ghouls wanted to escape their addiction, but it was so strong she ultimately succumbed to it.

  • @WorldofLos 1 of my buddies used the pic you have in your avatar for his pc Emma Voss, years ago. Did you have the players play their own ghouls or the ghouls of another player?

  • @woodwwad I love Brom's art, really imaginative stuff. I had the players play their own ghouls so I could show them how I interpret their characters-as they had to answer to them. Also, it was fun because they were able to see the world of darkness from another perspective.

  • @WorldofLos Yes, a lot of it is very good. Interesting way to do it.

  • Never read this one, though I've heard of it. I think it sounds like a great addition to any Masquerade collection.

  • @SaudiLindsey4 yes, well worth picking up.

  • I noticed something a bit ironic. When you was mentioning how adult the book can get, there's two Monster High vids associated with this video.

  • @Demolitiondude well tag lines can produce some odd list videos for sure. I see vids that don't fit rather often.

  • @woodwwad First time I noticed that I laft my ass off.

  • @Demolitiondude sure, that's pretty funny. I agree. I've seen a few other good ones like that over the year I've been doing this.

  • @woodwwad I'm gonna properly prepare my defense. My next vid, your getting the blame card.

  • @Demolitiondude blame card?

  • Hey

Would you be able to do a video about the Umbra in Werewolf The Apocalypse? I sort of get it, but not quite, and I have no real idea of how I'd integrate it into a game I was running. Thanks mate.

  • @madgeniusmusic Sure, it is already on the list. I'll get to it at some point. Hopefully soon. The umbra is not only for werewolf but mage too & certainly deserves some focus. It is hard to get a grasp on.

  • @woodwwad Thanks mate, I'll be looking forward too it.

  • I agree, it's an absolutely excelled Classic World of Darkness book. There are few that are better.

  • @thegentinquestion well said for sure.

  • Hmm seems like ghouls are presented sort of like vampires should be.

  • @Trencher1375 I think WOD does a great job with vampires too. Ghouls are very interesting.

  • Well done - but dont forget Ghouls are addicts so they may KNOW drinking 3 times causes a blood bond but can they resist the urge to drink again? To Independent - the Problem i see is this - they need to drink quite often (addiction) but it should be quite hard to find vampires in a new city so how are they going to find one for sure? They are driven after all and that often makes you reckless and sometimes you may act quite stupid cause of this. Should need a lot of willpower to resist the urge

  • @ArphenMaethor Well ghouls would be dealing vamp blood to each other & torchering & bleeding out any vamps they find. Yes, they certainly are going to be driven & likely reckless especially in the throws of addiction.

  • NWoD is not that bad.

  • @Demolitiondude True its not that bad its even worse...^^

  • @ArphenMaethor Douchebag.

  • @Demolitiondude You're welcome ^^

  • @ArphenMaethor No 20th editions for you! Come back one year!

  • @Demolitiondude It's not 4e D&D but it isn't WOD either.

  • @woodwwad It's still is. Just takes practice.

  • I think this is the book that you sent to me. Once again, thanks for that by the way. :)

  • @Samwise7RPG yes, I did. Have you read it?

  • @woodwwad I haven't read it yet. Since I started making videos, I think I actually read a lot less RPGs, hehe. It's kind of silly.

  • @Samwise7RPG I think I'm guilty of that too. I saw you on facebook!

  • @woodwwad Netflix, YouTube, Facebook, Google+, My PBP Games, etc. Yeah, I waste a lot of time online.

  • @Samwise7RPG Yeah, there is a lot of that going around. So much to do & it all eats up time.

  • Ah, Ghouls, my favorite part of the Vampire game. Storytelling a domitor, the only being that matters and sending the characters off on his personal missions for just a small amount of blood once every month or so. I always play it as the domitor sees his ghouls as pets, beloved and loyal pets. However, he sees them more like hunting hounds or a cat for mousing. The moment they are no longer useful, he won't feed them. Most of them time, they are bonded, and they want to please him. It's fun.

  • @Tialait A head fat with knowledge! The nature of love between vampire & ghoul really adds a lot of interesting elements to the characters.

  • I'll most likely post another comment, but it this keeps bugging me. If the calories are for your mind..will they give me a fat head?

  • Oh yeah, Omar Little and Chalkie White are played by Michael Kenneth Williams. Phenomenal actor, indeed.

On my character Bucket List is a Jazzman Investigator for a Cthulhu campaign who would be played by Michael Kenneth Williams. I will often think of an actor whom I base my character's appearance and voice upon. Seems like that's an Ander strategy as well.

  • @Onionkid99 He is a wonderful actor. Both those characters were so different too. I respect his talent a lot. Yes, I like to see a character in that way some times (I tend to vary all my approaches but I do use that some times).

  • maybe you should run this for Mathew then. Not that I'm backing out of the Faerun game, hell no.

  • @alokov you do your work fool!

  • @woodwwad Well I have written another plot arc besides the ones you gave me, and I've planned out the first session in minute detail (or as minute as necessary and with regards to your character as I don't have the others yet). So I'd say I'm doing my work well enough.

  • @alokov Good, remember there are 24 hours in a day!

  • The dark age line mentions, several other revernet families, most of which got wiped out; which is a shame as some of them were just cool, such as the Barasabs.

their is also a revernet family that is tied to the tremere, can't remember its name though but i think it is in one of the thamaturgy books.

one game idea that works IMO well for ghouls is a giovanni game. you start off as ghouls before you are given the family honor of becoming a giovanni. I think it would work well for them.

  • @herkles1 yeah, I was thinking the Tremere can one too. Sure that works well for Giovanni & a lot of other clans too: Venture, Tremere, Followers of Set, all work well.

  • This is one wicked book. The nWoD Ghouls book is good, but nWoD always seems to pale in comparison. (Except for Changeling The Lost).

I've always tried to humanize my ghouls. It's sad, and savage, and frightening and pitiful all at the same time. Any inspiration from "The Wire" really is perfect for Ghouls. A Ghoul is never "a dot in Allies". No way, they're full cast members. ie.-- Bill Overbeck, Vietnam veteran whose massive PTSD manifested in drug seeking behavior. He found it in Vitae.

  • @Onionkid99 The idea of ghouls is a great one, so I can see how they'd have a good book there too. You really sum that up well, they are all of those things at the same time. So much you can do with them. Yes, ghouls have to be developed. I really dislike how some lesser talented GMs will simply put them with little to zero personality, as stat blocks.

  • Hey wad, I 'd like to see your opinion/first thoughts on the announcement of the D&D 5E.

Are you going to give it a try? Do you agree that it's coming out so early?

  • @FPietros Honestly, I have about zero interest in it. Have the utter disappointment of 4e, I wouldn't be bothered to get interested in D&D again. I suppose it could be great, but I really doubt they'll address the biggest problem which is a lack of focus on rp. Yes, it is coming out early but when you've created the most hated rpg of all time, I guess it is never too early to kill it.

  • the novels that true blood were based off of were released when white wolf was having its hayday so its understandable their would be similarities. the novels are quite a bit darker than the show actually in my opinion. then again i guess thats up to the imagination anyway.

  • @falloutmnky I've never read the novel. I think the show is very good. The first season was a little weak & Sookie & Bill are my least favorite characters but other than that, I do enjoy it.

  • @woodwwad I have some issues with pussy ass vampires in general, if i were a member of the undead you bet your ass i would be out there eating people. i feel like bill and sookie are sort of weak characters in both the the novels and the show, I think it may just be because im more into the decadent debauchery that the rest of the people in the series in to.

  • @falloutmnky Yes, they waste a lot of the time of the show. I feel like man, I really want them to get off tv, so I can enjoy the show again. I love the parts with Jessica in them, she's pretty close to a 10/10 in the looks department & not a bad actress, she's my true blood crush. I'm a big fan of Erik and Lafiet too.

  • @woodwwad I really like jessica as well, i feel like she does the "vampire struggling to not be so evil" thing REALLY well. Lafayette is probably my favorite character though (being a flamboyant homosexual myself i identify well with him) he leaves the series quite early on in the novels so i was glad to see him be a serious character in the show.

  • @falloutmnky Yeah, I'd heard they'd written him out quickly in the novels. That would have been a big mistake in the show as he's a strong character. Great actor too.

Yeah, the trying to be good aspect of Jessica adds to her, especially since she stumbles a lot. I love the way she pops her fangs & then covers them up, all embarrassed.
