They are, but they can stand quite a bit of noise if it's not a piercing sound. Plus, the engine of the vacuum is what makes most of the noise, not so much the wand.

Lol it's not abuse. I used to own 4 cats, and they LOVED the vacuum. It doesn't hurt the cat, it gets the shedding fur off so it doesn't get on your furniture.

Anyone doing this needs to be very careful. Heard about a cat that was curious about the vaccum, and it's lungs were collapsed by the suction. They lost the cat. Very very sad.

We leave the holes open on the vacuum to make sure that the pressure is not to high, but viewer discretion is advised :)
